My lower back pain started after I had my first son, too. I still have it and he is over two years old now. I have what feels like a movable lump that hurts, especially after I sleep in the same position for more than two hours. I can feel them on both sides of my lower back and my doctor hasn't been able to help really. Pain pills don't work, chiropractors didn't really help, physical therapy did help a small amount, but the pain is still there. At least it's comforting to know that this isn't only happening to me.

I hope you have gotten help for this. From the way you have described it, it sounds VERY similar to what I am going through now. My doctor believes it IS a lipmo and is the cause of my back pain. It's been getting increasingly worse over the years and I plan on having it removed. I am told it is a VERY simple procedure, only taking a few minutes, but provides so much relief. I've even heard of people getting it liposuctioned out with Smartlipo. The only difference is with liposuction the fat can't be biopsied. As long as the pain is gone I couldn't care less about a biopsy though.

after 10 years I finally got diagnosed and was told it was a lipoma, fatty lump also called a back mouse that can be easily removed. Do a google search and it will tell all about it. Even look on youtube and they have the surgery of removing it. It's so simple I'm so mad that I've had to deal with this pain for SO long. I'm surprised ALL the people I've seen about before now knew nothing about it!!

Look up "back mice" it is a small lump in the back that causes pain to radiate! You can get steroid injection right in the lump! I have the same issue, left side as well and I have heard the shot helps!

I had twins eight months ago and I've been having the exact same thing - pain on the left side of my lower back just above the hipbone. Thought it was just muscles and tendons hurting from carrying babies and compensating for my core muscles which were recovering from the c-section. But it's getting worse and now there's definitely a lump just left of my power spine. Thought maybe bone fragment. Fatty cyst would make sense I guess. Sounds like I have to get it checked out...boo! Was hoping it was just sore muscles tissue...

I went to a guy who massaged them in. I was to the point of not being able to get up. I saw this guy who said it was nerve related and, not so gently, rubbed them toward my spine and it worked! I go once a year now and he does this. After he says to ice the area, both sides for me, and take ibuprofen. My doctor told me I needed surgery but he took care of it in one session.
