I have had the same thing, the only thing that has worked for me is massage therapy with hot rocks, acupuncture, and cupping all in one session. Once or twice a year can make a big difference. I had gone to physical therapy for almost a year because I had to much pain walking, sitting or bending down and they could not figure out what it was. Also laying on the floor with legs curled up and rolling side to side can help get rid of the bumps. Hope this helps.

What they are referring to is not a pilondal cyst. It sounds like it is a musculoskeletal issue. You know it is a musculoskeletal issue usually because it is associated with straining in the back. It could be from lifting something heavy, not using good posture, and simply stress. They can get larger and with rest and massage they can reduce in size. I suggest that it you have a sudden strain and it enlarges that you use ice every 4-6 hours for 20 minutes at a time, wear good shoe padding when working on hard floors (concrete, wooden), rest it is you have that time. After 4 day you can rotate heat and ice. Any time you first develop an injury you initially need to use ice to decrease the irritation and swelling. the heat will bring the blood supply to the area and worsen this in the first 3-4 days so avoid the heat. Good luck! I have the same thing. I think I need a spinal alignment and muscle relaxers as well.

Exactly what I am going through! It interferes with my life in general, and I work in day care with toddlers! Lots of bending and lifting involved.

I have the same lump also and recently noticed another small one underneath closer to my hip. I have degenerative disk disease and a pinched nerve but this lump has not been addressed by my Dr or the orthopedic surgeon. My physical therapist noticed it. It absolutely hurts and causes a lot of discomfort that none of the pain pills I take even touch the pain.

OMG! It's crazy to see how many people are actually going through what I'm going through.
I also have small lumps for over a year now and the pain is just growing worse and worse. doing house chores is even becoming unbearable. My doctor said it's just the muscles around the discs hardening up to protect me from injuring my disc further. However, the disc injury was over two years ago and the lumps are not going away with physical therapy and with rest and everything I've been told to do.
I cannot move the lumps at all and to touch them is painful. They cause sharp shooting pains and sometimes radiating pains around my hips and down my legs.
My husband is convinced that it's tumors....please don't forget to post results...I can't afford exploratory options...I need to know what I"m looking the doctors to do when I go in there. Thank you so much!

PLEASE please let me know if you found out what was wrong with you!!! After having my son a year ago, my back would randomly lock as you described, especially if i lay on my stomach. The pain is getting unbearable and my doctors are so unreliable and just want to move you on to the next doctor.

One possible solution is a trip to the bathroom, where the release of "gases" will likely reduce the pain - at least it has for me. I suspect that the internal pressure somehow pushes against the lipoma, irritating it and igniting pain. Reducing the pressure reduces the pain.
