Hello there and sorry to hear about ur problem :( My fiance had the same symptoms as u are describing. His started out in the area ur describing and after a while it got worse. He couldnt hardly stand or walk (a shooting pain would go down his leg and it eventually became all numb) and would limp everywhere. It was so bad he couldnt bend to put his pants or socks on so i had to help him. He finally decided to go to the dr. and he had a ruptured disc and a pertruding disc in his lower spine (above butt crack) when i would slightly push on it i could feel something like a bump and it would hurt him when pushed hard) he ad to do physical therapy for a while and now he is better and didn't have to get back surgery...he now just has to be careful and not pick up things that are really heavy. I hope this helped :) go to the dr.

i have it too for the past week and a half and it is nonstop and i cant even sit so i have to stand up but then after standing for too long my feet start to hurt. it never wakes me up once i am asleep but i am never able to sleep in the first place. my mom suggests that you go get a x-ray cause maybe it is a hairline crack or a fracture. if you guys know any type of medication or anything please reply. i just hope it is nothing serious

Try hot sitz baths and a I use a professional massager that i got at Brookstone every nite. It puts me ro sleep. You could also use a heating pad and alternate with ice. You want to stimulate circulation to the area. I also take pain medication.

You wouldn't see any puss or mucus if it were a pilonidal cysts

bad advice. pus common with a pilonidal cyst. It becomes infected and that is why it has to be lanced and/or surgically removed.11

Have the same thought it was a nerve damaged from lifting/sitting

I have exactly the same issue as you. I'm a truck driver! If you have found anything out would be great to hear.
I've been sent for blood tests as they think it might be a cyst of some sort.

It is a pilonidal cyst, common for long sitting jobs.
