How much days does your pain take to get normal
Its 32 years since i had my gall bladder removed full surgery there was no keyhole thenyou are right it is not fun i have tried every thing going test wise so frustrating. I did get a bit of a lift last December i was mistakenly sent to a surgeon who imediatly prescribed me for bile acid questran powders 3 a day and if i forget to take one the pain is back also no dairy or wheat also if i take paracetamol the pain also comes back i hope this will help some of you.
I had my gallbladder and appendix taken out 30 years ago, and I just started getting the pain 7 years ago. My doctor could feel something under my ribs on the right side, but all she said was "interesting, we'll keep an eye on it".
Hello...thanks for your post. I noticed it was over a year ago and was wondering if you had any reslove. I had my gallbladder out this past March and took about 3 weeks to recover but after that I felt great. I look back now and realize I wasnt eating as healthy as I should of after the surgery...some fried foods and red meats. On the 4th of July I went to a bbq and had pork tenderloin (which is something I never eat) That night when I layed down I felt the same pain under my right rib cage that I felt prior to the surgery. I thought let me give it a couple days and see if it goes away. It did not. I started having pains on my left side also and my lower back from time to time. I made an appt with my surgeon and he mentioned stones could of slipped into the bile duct and ordered me a 2 scans. I am a nervous wreck and cant believe this is happenning. I thought everything was fine but its over 2 weeks of pain.

Did you have mesh pit in when they did your hysterectomy?
I am amazed how many of us have the same pain. After my gallbladder removal 5 months ago I've now got pain under right rib cage from front to back. Laying flat on back hurts and leaning over then upon standing hurts. As well as deep breaths. Also, my triglycerides have gone up above 400! Something is seriously wrong and it appears by this article to happen to a lot of post gallbladder surgery patients. I would love to read that there is a simple fix.
I had my gallbladder removed 16 years ago. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism 2 years ago & now recently with IBS...I frequently get the right side pain no matter what I eat. And it's almost as bad as the attacks that led to the gallbladder removal, I even get nauseous from the pain when it's severe. I unfortunately only have medically needy share of cost Medicaid & most specialists don't accept it. The ER closest to my home treat me like a drug addict when I come in because that's the only place I can go for help. But lately they just diagnose me with IBS & send me home with enough medicine for two weeks. I've even made the suggestion that maybe I have gallstones in my bile ducts but they only say I have to see a specialist to find out. I too had laparoscopic surgery to remove my gallbladder. I'm praying that we all find relief because the pain is unbearable at times.
I'm so sorry you are going through this. I have the exact thing as you. I recently found out that when the remove the gallbladder they leave in surgical clamps. So I'm assuming thats whats causing all the pain. All I know is there has to be a logical anwser.
Hi, I am a 62 yo male, (seems like most the comments are female, which was interesting to me). I had my gallbladder removed about a year ago in late 2016. It was pre-septic and in very bad shape when they removed it. I still get the pain up through the right shoulder about once a month for 4-5 days, and would go through constipation then diarrhea. I also had the orthoscopic 4-hole surgery. I just this month started having pain under my right ribcage. I assumed my liver was in trouble as I have had hepatitis 40 years ago contracted in Mexico from raw seafood. After reading all your comments I am thinking it may not be my liver. I am thinking diet might have to be my next attempt at curing. I have heard no deep fried foods, or super spicy, (I love my crispy fried chicken and chips/salsa). Have any of you found any results in changing diets or occasional fasting? I will lift you all up in prayer!
I am 12 months post cholecystecomy. I do not have pain but a dreadful soreness in gall bladder/ liver area. I had this soreness pre op but it is now more intense. Any ideas?
