I am a paramedic. you don't have a collapsed lung. i doubt you even have lung cancer.. Sounds to me, judging from your activities you have a strained intercostal muscle.
im nor sure if anyone goes on here any more but i am 13 years old also and i have been experiencing the same type of pain. it hurts when i take deep breathes and it also hurts to touch the area. i havent seen a doctor so if anyone happens to see this and might know whats wrong please tell me! my mom said it might be just gas pains but im not sure
Hey maddiemaddie 13 years old is realy young buddy to be getting these sort of pains but im going to tell you what my natropath put me on after two years of having this pain in my right side under the rib cage and below the right shoulder blade, he told me it was probably gallbladder thing and he then told me to drink 3 litres of apple juice in one day and to drink it warm atleast at body temperature so i would fill a big mug of apple juice half way and the rest with boiling hot water which should be warm enough to drink because youve always got to keep the apple juice refrigerated at all times and drink it like you would a cup of tea every hour and a half as long as you drink the whole 3 litres in the first day, then on the second and third day 1.5 litres of apple juice the same way and a litre on the fourth and fifth if you still have the pain after five days and mainly in your lower back then he said it was probably my kidneys in which i found out it was so he told me to change to lemon juice and to take it the same way but straight after drinking the mug of lemon and water drink a cup hot water aswell and he also sent me to the local health shop and told me to buy magnesium tablets and told me to take two a day and it helped me alot. I dont know if this would help you and id rather you seek professional help before you would try this but i truely believe in what my natropath told me and that is when you seek help in doctors or GPs and they cant find anything wrong with you they would rather want to cut you open to find the problem or even worse just give you pain killers and send you home without fixing the problem as they did to me, when you get cut open nothing works the same. So if you can help it try not to get cut open unless you try something natral first something as simple as apple juice or even go and see a natropath im not to sure if your situation is the same as mine but this method sure helped me out and i hope me posting this helps you aswell good luck in your journeys.
I am having a similar problem. I get this "bubble" in my chest under my left rib cage, close to my arm pit. It happens to me frequently, at least once a week. Usually I can breath deep and pop it per say and it is very painful but at least it goes away. But this time I am on day three and nothing I do relieves it. My arm now aches and I have to keep my breaths shallow. Urgh.. I am so annoyed by the whole thing.
Since you've had this for 3 years I suggest you get the gas company to come in with a sniffer to see if it's possibly a slow carbon monoxide leak. I had this and it was acute carbon monoxide poisoning which was from the flu pipe releasing in the attic instead of actually being upright and going outside.
I don’t think I have the bubble but for the past couple of months I’ve had this pain in my right lung for a while. i thought it was my back needing adjusted however I got to thinking about it I can make the pain go away by twisting to the right or left but if my back is straight I can NOT take a deep breath without pain even short breaths hurt:( its the whole bottom part of my lung! help :/
i am reading this over and over.......give me few to respond....... first, how old are you??? second,, hows you liver mate????:) @ arin
I HAD A BAD FALL AND IT EFFECTED MY RIGHT SIDE OF MY RIB CAGE UP TO UNDER MY BREAST, VERY PAINFUL, WHAT CAN I DO OR TAKE?
AGE 60, NO LIVER PROBLEMS
If your a heavy drinker, this also could be pancreatitis. It also can be caused by a stone in the gallbladder All they need to do is run a blood lab, it check the enzyme levels.
I have had pleurisy a few times and the pain and shortness of breath some of you describe sound similar to the symptoms I had. Pleurisy is fluid in the lining of the lung, and it is extremely painful. It can usually be cured with a short course of antibiotics. More serious cases may need the lung draining.
I have these sharp pain were I can't breath, as I get older, the pain happens longer, and I may only get them maybe 4 times a year. Put a pillow or fold up a blanket under your ribs were the pain is, lay on it to put pressure in the area were it hurts, it will make you breath easier and take some of the pain away. I'm not a doctor, but it works for me
I was having shortness of breath with stomach pain and this weird rumbling feeling. After gastro, rheumatologist and cardio visits showed nothing..I finally realized it was a gastto issue. I had H-pylori. Research it. Most people have it but dont know they do. It causes anxiety and all of my symptoms mentioned above. The only thing that has helped me is called Mastic Gum (jarrow brand).
