I've had anus and urinary pains for about the last 2 years of my period. I'm now 16 and I've found ways to cope with it. If you apply pressure around your anus by pushing up against the surround muscle while you pass a stool it will help to relieve pain 'sometimes.' Apply more pressure as needed of course. I noticed if I hold my pee, I have less cramps than when I do pee. But if your bladder is full there will be a constant pain which will be released when you pee but there will be cramps. If you feel pain in your uterus get the hottest heating pad that can be used without causing burns and apply it to where the pain is. My best advice is to keep up with taking pills ahead of time

During the first two days of my period when I need a BM I have what feels like a cramp in my rectum that lasts up to 5 seconds. As soon as I have a BM I no longer get this pain and having the actual BM isn't painful. Does this sound like endometriosis?

Omg!! I too am also glad I'm not the only one that experiences this! Very sore in the first 2 days of period and also afraid to go to the toilet as the pain is so unbearable I hold my breath as the stool passes due to pain! I was starting to think there was something seriously wrong! Periods also been so bad the last couple of months where I need wheat bags just to almost numb the pain! Sucks being a women at this time of the month!

I sympathize with everyone that's shared on here! I also get pain with bladder and bowel movements on first two days of period, Sometimes along with severe nausea and abdominal aches too. Always had heavy but manageable periods but never painful until the last 6 months or so when, due to lifestyle changes, I became much less physically active. So I'm beginning to think diet and exercise play a vital role, I find changes in my weight, diet, and exercise have tangible effects on my period. The heavier I am, the worse my diet is (overeating, lack of fruit, veg and lean protein, too much dairy and low fibre carbs), and the less active I am, the heavier my period and the more severe my symptoms are. Some more in depth research and public broadcasting about this problem would be so great!! I'm going to start keeping a diary dedicated to my diet, exercise and periods to see if I can spot a trend :)

I too have this problem ! I'm so glad im not the only one dealing with this. It started last year each period, luckily a few months later I started on the pill to help with excruciating painful period cramps, they have helped, but im still getting sharp pains on my period when im going to the toilet, especially when pooping I have to hold my breath and try not to scream. Im 18 and im wondering if there is any point going to the doctors to ask about this? Or am I just going to have to get my butt to the gym and eat a little more healthier?

Ladies ; this is all symptoms of endometriosis within your bowel area. Everyone should talk to an endocrinologist l. Most Obgyns are not specialized in this and will convert to birth control . When you pass a bowel it causes you're already inflamed muscles to contract as if giving birth. Very sharp painful cramp. Almost unbearable!

YES. Expertise is key. I suffered for years crawled up in bed an entire week of my period. When I went to school we sat in chairs all day and it was awful. Couldn't pass stools without pain couldn't pee couldn't feel anything but my cramps. I started working a job where I'm on my feet all day. The first period I had when I worked I fainted but after my body adjusted to being on my feet the pain slowly went away. I was off yesterday and I started today so I'm having pains but nothing like it used to be. Every day it's best to be on your feet doing something

I am soon to be 50. I have past out. I don't have monthly cramps, I have been check, tested for everything, nothing. I only have a bowel movement maybe once a week. I am on a nutritional system which helped for about a month. I went gluten free. I have been caffeine free for decades. I just feel I learn to deal with it. If I take a laxative all it does is cramp me up and still no bowel movement. During my cycle it is painful to sit, stand and lay flat. My hips hurt, I feel like my insides are twisted in a knot. Actually pain is like a hynalhernia but worse. I am to the point of saying this is life.

I am very glad I found this thread. I'm 25, no kids, have had regular periods (though pretty severe, nauseating cramps on day 2). This symptom in particular only started about a month ago and scared me senseless. Called a physician on call who suggested I pop a motrin and see my gyno. They checked me for endo and o was completely clean. I've been put on prescription motrin the two days leading up to my cycle and first two days of. It's helped the cramping, but I'm still getting the pain every other month or so with bms. What has helped, as mentioned above, are crunches and side stretches. My doctor mentioned it might also be something called a vasovagal reaction. Upping my fiber intake in the weeks leading up seems to help, as does my new low estrogen bc. Hope you ladies find some relief! This is a miserable experience.
