Pains that feel like cramps?

I have these weird pains in my low abdominal area. They are very sharp pains and i have about a week of the feeling of a slight urinary tract infection. Yesterday these pains got very painful so i drank a few pills. My UTI feeling has gone away and now i only have these sharp pains. It wakes me up in the middle of the night. I usually get my period around the first days of every month. My cousin and i usually get our periods the same day but she got hers about 3 days ago. I dont know if these pains that feel like cramps are the symptoms of being pregnant or if i am going to get my period. I just really need some advice before going to the doctor.
