parents smoking marijuana around their children, how bad is this

To the person who said, "we have special thc receivers in our brains so its not causing any damage. " We also have nicotine recepters, and even opiate receptors because we are a life form just like plants are a life form and we produce many of the same compounds. Humans also produce natura versions of all of these.

Alcoholics admit they have a problem. They know it's damaging to their health and should not do it around children.

Cigarette smokers admit they have a problem. They know it's damaging to their health and should not do it around children.

However pot smokers do not admit they have a problem which is damaging to health and are fine with doing it around their children.

What makes them so special?

What makes them so arrogant?

What makes them so pompous?

The pot?

LOL!

If I could choose to employ anyone for my business I would choose a pot smoker every time.

They are 100% reliable and loyal.

They get things done. Right away.

They are way more intelligent than the average member of society and will not hesitate to tell you.

They never make a mistake and will always blame someone else.

They stand firm upon every decision they have ever made, which they can justify aggressively.

All their friends are pot smokers too and they are all the same - fantastic aware people.

If you don't smoke pot they will pester you until you do. They are such philanthropists that way.

They will not rest until your life is as fantastic as theirs.

They will not rest until your living room has a ripped and tatty sofa and a beer-stained bean bag.

Until you get rid of anything of value in your house, they will always look down upon you.

look up some real facts about marijuana. marijuana is one of the least addicting drugs. caffeine is categorized as more addicting. stop listening to what the DEA tells you too. they shut down a research project that was aimed to prove marijuana causes cancer but the results actually showed it was slowing down cancer and also showed marijuana killing off tumors. go to my link to about the 5th post down. youll see all facts you need.

So the next question will the child test positive for thc?

Yes i AGREE its bad however their are those people out there that know its wrogn but stilld o it and drive around with fear of police all day, just stay at home ALSO yes its wrong to do these things in front of them however its not a good idea to keep children in a bubble their whole life so that when they do finaly come in contact with it they dont go CRAZY an REBEL completely ya understand? small doses of life, not such a shock so my oppinion is 50/50

People do die from smoking cannabis!!!!!!! It causes vasoconstriction and destroys the air sacs in the lungs potentially leading to asthma, copd and lung cancer! The government cannot give official figures, as cannabis is an illegal drug and many regular users will not freely admit to smoking it when admitted to hospital with resultant illnesses. Only uneducated or ignorant people will deny the destruction that regular cannabis smoking can cause. It is akin to an alcoholic denying that the alcohol is damaging their liver.

the fact that all these people are posting these comments about cannibis just goes to prove how well the government propaganda program works.

keeping the healing affects of marijuana unknown to the general population is making rich people even richer.

it really amazes me how people don't understand the basic principles the world runs by. Greed rules the earth and that is the reason marijuana is illegal.

Penicillin has wonderful healing qualities too, but I don't chug it down like beer - especially when there's nothing wrong with me! :-D

Hey guys my names Shawna k. i am 15 turning 16 and i live with a house of pot heads. EVERYONE i live with smokes it. They don't care if we are right there. meaning me and my 10 year old brother. But it doesn't effect me. nor does it him. we dont want to do it because we have seen what ANY kinda drug does. onn March 3, 2010 my uncle over dosed on Methane, Angel Dust, Mary Jane. it was horrible 9 days in the ICU and he is back home now butt tthe thing is is that he forgets EVERYTHING. i hate drugs and i hate what they do.. but it's also the persons choice. :!:

In all honesty, your opinion on this matter isn't really that relevant. All that matters is the opinion of those who live with you and couldn't give a monkeys about what they are exposing you to.

I think if done responsibly you wouldn't be asking is smoking around your kids is ok?!?! It shouldn't be done around them. I'm a mother and my daughter hasn't the slightest idea I smoke. I treat it as a night cap, done when she gone to bed and outside. By the way there's is no evidence linking and cancer causing agents in Pot. But it does greatly affect your ability to grow and develop especially in young children, if there getting high off the fumes. For those who think that pot smoke is making the kids crazy; they're either hot boxing the kids or their mother was smoking when pregnant. I came from a home where my parents smoked, we'd all smoke before christmas dinner. And it was fine until now, the biggest mistake you will be making is leading your kids to believe that this is alright. They will never even question their use because mom and dad did it. Your robbing your children of so many opportunities they aren't and will never be aware of on top of giving them an addiction to battle. I've smoked every day for the last 10 years and I'm only 25, it never even occured to me to quit. Now I'm struggling to improve myself, and have my mother to thank for the mental addiction. Verdict - Smoke if you like but put the kids first and they should be none the wiser! :-P

What kind of BS is this? There are plenty of parents who do this while drunk as well, or even perfectly sober. Smoking marijuana recreation ally doesn't necessarily mean that they are irresponsible! People make their own decisions on how they care for their kids. If they don't care for them while they were stoned, they were not going to care for them sober either. There is a BIG difference between socially/recreationally smoking and a "stoner". I assume the poster occassionally drinks. Using your logic, once your kids see you reach for a glass of wine they should assume they will need to fend for their lives as you will be too drunk to care for them anymore?

For reference, my husband and I both are medical MJ patients, each have our own incorporation, make well into six figure incomes EACH, own our enormous home in a prestigious neighborhood, and care for all our many pets and horses better than most people care for their children, so don't be so presumptuous that ALL people who smoke pot are irresponsible losers and should have their children taken away from them. We have come to the conclusion that it is not safe for us to have children of our own, despite knowing that we would both make excellent parents, because of ill-informed close minded people, such as yourself, and an unjust government.

Maybe people should inform themselves and open their minds. Maybe there would be a lot less hate in this world just because someone chooses to live a life that is different than yours.

Also, to answer the original question, you should judge people on their actions. If the parent is being unfit while smoking or even not smoking, then you should say something. If they are a perfectly adequate parent, then leave them alone. What are the alternatives? Foster care? Take them away from a perfectly competent parent, ruin the child's life, and put them in the foster care system?

First of all. Marijuana is not harmful to the body in any way. So get your facts straight. There are plenty of studies, documentaries, books, even communities of cannabis users.

As for smoking around your children, I believe that is for the parents to decide. It does no harm to children, and if you're that worried about it you could always use a vaporizer which only produces THC vapor. I smoke everyday and I'm a proud parent of a 2 year old with a comfortable life.
