I am a 17 and have grown up fully aware that my mom smokes weed. Growing up, I knew there was a difference between cigarettes and weed, and that most smokers smoked something different than my mom. I noticed absolutely NO medical side effects to her smoking in a backroom of the house. It wasn't closed off, but it wasn't close to the main area. No asthma, coughing, "feeling buzzed" or anything other silly side effects you are afraid the kids will endure. My parents were never "too stoned to care for me" or out of it. They were active parents who participated in my life like any other parents. The word normal fits perfectly, plus weed. Normal + weed. I'm on my way to college this year, I survived and thrived and you have nothing to worry about if the parents are good parents.

The only thing I disagree with is not getting a buzz from the second hand smoke. I use to smoke alot of pot on high school and think there is nothing wrong with smoking it, however I can't be near it without getting a light buzz. I don't get ripped but it's enough to bother me. That's why people 'hot box' right? To keep all the smoke in to increase the buzz? Maybe not but anyway, if it bothers me (granted I may be overly sensitive to it) than I can't imagine what it's doing to a child. I'm all for everyone having their vices but when your being a parent, that should be your fisrt priority. If you can't go without getting high or drinking or whatever as long as you kids are around then you should concider help. I realise that most people can handle most everyday tasks with ease while high but when it comes to the care of your kids why take the risk? Again if you need your fix that bad, you should think about the example your setting.

You don't get high off weed and crash you're car, or best your wife.but you do on alcohol, and that's legal.so what is wrong with smoking a little every day to take the edge andevery day stress away?

I am a mother who smokes weed, and everyday I get the washing done, feed my babies, get my son off to school. Tidy the house. Pay the bills, make dinner, bathe my kids.. Smoking marijuanna does not effect my ability as a mother! You just got to be level headed. Some people can say some very offensive things because they judge on steriotypes! Hasnt anyone learned yet that EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!!!!

I totally agree on this I think this y and not jst this also the smell of the cigarettes on the children's clothes and having people ask them questions such as do u smoke, does someone in ur household smoke? I think for these parents to smoke around their kids is about the dumbest most stupidest thing they would have done (sorry parents but if ur smoking any kind of drug in front of ur kid or kids then u should knw its wrong) if I were these parents I'd stop immediately even though it would be hard Id count on anything to make it right including myself and god

You should never smoke pot in front of your kids, coming from a stoner, but if you go to the porch, wait till they are asleep, ect, its fine. As an adult you have the right to break the law. <-sounds kinda ironic I know. I dont think a person should drink or even smoke cigs around their kids but thats just me. My mother smoked and still smokes pot and has never harmed me. Ive never even seen her do it, but she did drink in front of me and thats just the worst, no parent should ever get drunk in front of their kid. I dont think they should smoke pot with their kid or even allow their kid to smoke until they feel their child is mature enough to handle it but they should educate them at a young age. Use common sense parents, it gets you a long way.

Marijuana does not cause cancer

This pretty much sums up everything I want to say

Let's say, hypothetically speaking, that the drugs were being done outside the home, then the user goes back into the home to 'care' for the younger child(ren). Regardless of whether or not the children have inhaled this cr*p, their parents are now less than stellar on their response time and focus. Not a safe caregiver for the child. They should not be in the care and control of a minor. Period.

Do you know if there's anything that scientificly proves what secondary effects this can have on children?

This is so wrong, THC is proven to actually cure cancer. Cigarettes are poison that have been ok'd by the FDA. No one has ever died from marijuana, right now 6 million people die worldwide a year from tobacco use. Please check your facts before spreading lies. If marijuana was a person they'd sue you right now for slander.

Read my posted articles above, pot PREVENTS cancer. The fact that there are carcinogens in pot smoke, yet pot smokers don't get cancer indicates that the effect pot has on cells prevents cancer. You need to read up before accusing me of spouting off, and the articles are available to you, in my post, which you obviously didn't read before "spouting off".

Not true. The only reason you have never noticed lung issues, flem, or breathing problems is probably because you haven't stayed off the weed long enough for your lungs to become unaffected from all the damage you did cause. In a way that u would understand, basically your lungs were high and weren't able to clean the dirt particles etc that you inhaled so the problems you blamed on the cancer stick was actually due to both.
