Your all a bunch of government brainwashed idiots who believe that marijuana is the devil yet binge drink at any given moment. FACT marijuana is not illegal in all coutrys. FACT cannibis coffee shops are being trialed within the UK. FACT marijuana slows down the effects of cancer also cures in some cases (hemp oil). Annnnnnnd finally to all of those whos 'point' is made by asking the question "well if theres nothing wrong with it why is it illegal?" our survey says: WAKE UP THE GOVERNMENT CANNOT TAX ANYTHING THAT HAS NOT BEEN TAMPERD WITH HOWEVER NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MINDS WILL BUY TAMPERD WITH BUD. My point is alcohol ane cigerrettes are bad for us but we still do it because "its not against the law" jumping from a plane isnt against the law but its a damn sight more dangerous than weed. Lets put it this way you are more likely to drown in the chilli sauce of your dirty fat ridden kebab on you weekly stumble home from your watering hole than you are to die of a marijuana related death

I hear you. But sweetie, you're only 25. I'm a 34 year old woman who has smoked pot for 15 years fairly hard core. I felt the same when i was your age, really until i was about 30, but to be honest it has taken a toll on my life. And i've made such a habit of it, i'm having difficulty quitting. After years of abuse, my brain is fried, my energy level is low and i'm depressed from the amount of time i've wasted not following my dreams being in la la land. I know you're not me, and everyone has there own story and will be affected by it differently. I happen to have an addictive personality and thank god i never got into drinking or any other drugs. I wish there was more research. I have no kids, but i would like to know the effects of secondhand pot smoke for the sake of my beautiful nieces who have been exposed. (not from myself) I'm all about having the choice to do what you may with your own body, but these innocent kids deserve clean air until we have FACTS. I'm quite sure there are no benefits to kids breathing it in, so have some love man. Go outside and smoke and better yet keep that (fun for us but weird for the kids) high energy away from them if possible. I dont want to be judgemental (for i am the queen of f--- ups), just keep in my that you're only 25 and you haven't suffered any long term effects yet. All the love...

Do you want this life for your children? Will you introduce this wonderful life/drug to your children so they to can have such a great gift of weed? You are fooling yourself. My daughter and her husband smoke pot. They are the laziest ppl I know. I have to support them because of the children. But now their children are older and will also smoke pot and follow in their footsteps. What a waste!

I work with elementary school children, and was extremely surprised to learn the percentage of boys and girls being medicated for ADHD. Approximately 15 years ago, I assumed the care of my grandson at the age of 5 years old. He was exhibiting such hyper and strange behavior. His mother yielded his care to me for his first (2) years schooling. She was a habitual cigarette and marijuana smoker. I could hardly get the smell of all that smoke out of his little clothes when he would visit. He recovered after a little stay in our home, void of the smoke. Played excellent sports I throughout his life. Went to college and is now working steadily. My point, these children I now work with who are heavily medicated and can hardly function are in dire need of Protective Services closely checking to see what these children are exposed to in their homes. Smoking in their presence is COLD BLOODED ABUSE!

You all need education without a bias before posting advice for others. The question was not are cigs worse than pot or vice versa....if you want to debate go join a group. I'd advise to do a ton of research and try to use sources that are reliable and up to date. I wouldn't write an essay for school without using up to date books and information. They teach you to cite your work for a reason. To make sure you are not paraphrasing something incorrectly and to make sure you have your facts, dates, and names correctly. My educated answer to this question is this: There is inconclusive research on this subject but, it seems to me that most make an educated guess that for several various reasons why a person should NOT expose a child/infant or even young teen to smoke or smoking. My personal opinion is to keep it away from them and educate them as you can. It is best if both smoking and alcohol are consumed ideally never but for sure wait until you are 25 and your brain is done developing for the largest part. THC has shown cancer curing properties. The cancer properties occur when it is smoked. You don't have to smoke pot lol that's what edibles are for. End rant. Thank u to anyone who reads it

The adults want to smoke pot, that's fine. It is their choice. If you smoke pot around your kids, they are inhaling too. They are too young to make an informed decision. You are making it for them. They lose the right to have a drug free life. No one providing a home and care for a child should be granted a medical marijuana card, period.

yup and dont forget the benefits of hemp for clothes and other things such as fishing ropes(perfectly usable hemp ropes are still found in sunken ships today) and have been found in pharaoh tombs) not to mention the hemp kept cotton from shrinking or stretching too much after being washboard scrubbed. many many uses for cannabis and hemp i however do not condone long term enclosed use around MINORS (for me a minor is one who can legally have sexual relations AND is in their last year of high school so at least 17yo in New York) i feel that if you cant step outside in a back yard or to a roof and your kids are safe with a responsible sibling or other non smoking adult then you shouldnt be smoking i do burn myself i have a backyard and i either let my kids play in the little kiddie pool i have for them while i am on the little deck more than 20 ft away. i suffer RA and PAINFUL IBS it REALLY helps me alot and i do advocate medicinalizing it at the very minimum.thank you and yes it is not cancer CAUSING ... duh...in my family we have brain tumors breast cancer ovarian cancer uterine cancer testicular cancer diabetes and bloos and heart issues... i should be a walking pharmacy.. i think because i have been a smoker for at least half my life is why i dont have those issues.. when i cant smoke it i have eaten it before i leave my home... and i am ok while i am gone... the benefits dont just come from smoking it and yes VAPING it is a GREAT SUGGESTION!!! it does cut the smell and the tar OUT of the equation. should never smoke in the car with your kids.. take all precautions as you would with driving drunk.. try not to if you dont have to... it does affect everyone different and it is not for everyone it has killed no one.. who could smoke 15 pounds in less than an hour alone you WANT to die... it is physically impossible since one would most likely get munchies and pass out before that can happen.. duh.. god put a safety measure in weed.. eat and sleep mode... thank you for readin. pass the word.. No the government won't take the children away if the parent has a "medical marijuana card". Any parent with a health issue can get one from a doctor. There are billboards all over Wayne County in Michigan advertising medical marijuana cards from drs for 145.00. So apparently if you've goy the cash, you get the card. I know personally a man in Wayne County Michigan who has sole custody of his 3 year old and all the worker can do is report if the dad is "lucid" at the time of the visit. He admits to smoking pot everyday and says it is good for his kid as it is natural. No one really cares.

Pot can be a stepping stone for harder drugs ask any drug addict what there first drug was and guaranteed it was pot. So it also has its negatives as well.

Wow, really..... your so judgemental, I grew up around gang violence , heavy drugs, Meth, crack , cocaine, tagging, guns, ect. not because I wanted to but that was my enviroment outside my home, the world isn't getting better only worse, do I want my son doing pot? No because of health hazards due to smoke in the lungs, but your rediculous, unless your a perfect conservative christian that walks on water who are you to judge calling pot heads stupid? I smoke week and work a full time job and go to college full time. I have my AS in Turf Management and am pursuing my BS and also i'm a certified landscape architect that has a huge home in Suthern California, what do you have? Smoking weed does not cause someone to be dumb, it's putting in no effort in life that does that....but say what you want and judge everyone because your dumb pot head cousin thinks it's ok to smoke while being pregnant, thats like judging all Germans as Hitler because of his actions. You need to grow up and take a class in school so you can actually learn about what you chose to speak on and not speak bad about pot as you drink your alcohol or smoke your ciggarettes or cuss or just sin in general but keep on judging because your comment is the only one that count ( sarcasm ).

I worked in a primary school, in one class were brothers, whose parents were heavy users... The second hand smoke in the closed house left these children useless in the learning environment untill after lunch time - 5 hours away from home to clear their brains and let them work at their learning. Then 3 hours later they went back home for it all to start again. It gives them more than a 'little buzz'. Do not fool yourself. DO NOT SMOKE DOPE AROUND CHILDREN.

ANYONE with a compromised immune system is in danger from your secondary smoke.. Do not kid yourslf that it has no effect. I have been hospitalised multiple times because of it. Just out enjoying a bit of music and people who are smoking dope in public cause danger and I have to leave. I am not breaking any law, I paid for my ticket, but I have to leave. Frankly IT SUCKS that dope users are as rabbid as cigarette smokers in defending THEIR RIGHTS to do whatever they want at the expence of others. You want to use it - stay the hell home! AND not near kids.

What I find truly amazing is the fact that no one who is a habitual pot smoker is sticking to the question of whether are not it is harmful

to smoke it around children! All you are doing is ranting about how great it is, and why it is not legal. Guess what I am not a habitual pot smoker but I agree with all that has been written here about the benefits of Cannabis, and the reasons that iit is illegal. But the key to true freedom is moderation. If you have to be addicted to something I will agree its better than the rest of the choices available.

But the question was is it harmful for children to inhale second hand smoke. And the answer is OF COURSE IT IS!! Its harmful for a child to inhale any kind of smoke,especially when they are very young. Please you don't have to be a rocket scientist to see this. You want to smoke, smoke, but go outside and do it. In my opionion any one who can't see that, has a vested interest in not seeing it.
