I had the same symptoms for two years and when I went to the urologist he also gave me bunch of antibiotics and not much improvement. He did some studies and he told me that I have an enlarged prostate. Has anyone else had any prostate issues. I still suffer from a sore urethra after sex.

I'm not a doctor, but I have the same issue and I saw a doctor.

Sounds like Candida guys. A horrible stubborn yeast infection that has unfortunately become resistant to many meds from spreading over the years to unsuspecting people. Your penis head will be red with tiny bumps or blisters, your scrotum may itch and burn as well. Oh, yes and an itchy burning anus too. Sound familiar????It's from unprotected sex with an infected female. She may even had it in her mouth. Did you you have oral sex as well? See a doctor right away.
I saw a urologist and he said it's yeast. Very common...and it is an fungal STD...not herpes. However, it is so resistant to medication, it feels like you're infected forever!!!

There are natural remedies such such as oregano oil, cocoa nut oil, grapefruit seed extract (never apply the grape fruit extract directly on infected area..it will burn you alive!!!) I have tried some of these remedies with little success. I even went on a candida diet with no sugar, carbs, alcohol....oh yes that's correct, you need to starve the yeast or you'll just feed this fungus. My symptoms started to improve but I went off the diet after a month and it's back. Mine is going on nine weeks and I will go back to the doctor next week.

I was thinking of ordering Yeastrol on the web. Has anyone tried it and had good results? We are all in this battle together.

Keep in touch!!

Latest from Floridaguy is very interesting. If this is Candida, are you saying that there is no clear solution/real treatment? My symptoms sounds like what all you guys are describing, burning sensation when urinating, feeling like I need to urinate more frequently, more a burning sensation than a real pain. And itching/burn in the rectum. I tested negative for both chlamydia and ghonnorea. Is this just as common with girls as with guys? And how secure is a chlamydia/ghonnorea test taken from urine sample?
Interesting also is "guest"'s theory of ecoli, it makes sense.
So, I am thinking that my current problems, as desribed above can be either Candida or Ecoli.

When tested negative for ghonorrea/chlamydia, and no sign of genital herpes, I am closer to believe I have either of above. But not sure. I might consider to go on a yeast infection diet.

Same exact symptoms here. Started feeling symptoms about a week ago, went to the hospital and they gave me STD treatment and an antibiotic shot. They tested urine and rules out infection, which means that it was either an inflammation of the urethra or a bladder infection. Really, at the end of the day, they've just got no clue.

Since the hospital visit the burning sensation whilst urinating has decreased but is still there! Also, I've noticed anal itching (great). That's actually what led me to this forum, which has got to mean something...

Btw, this occured as well the day after an unprotected sexual encounter. However, I've been with this person several sporatically in the past, and haven't experienced this until this time around, so maybe that means something as well?

Does anyone feel the tip of their penis closing, as if it's the morning after sex, and you have to pull it open before you urinate?

Also, has anyone tested definitely for genital warts/herpes? The doctor suggested this as a possibility, and frankly it's freaking me out.

It has also been suggested that this might be the result of a chemical irritation, which causes temporary inflammation and pain with urination. Did any of you use contraceptive jellies, creams, or lubricants which could have entered the urethera and cause mild disturbance?

But if this was a reaction from lubricant or condoms etc, it should go away after a while, right? Not go on for weeks and months.

This may be quite helpful, I'll detail as much as possible.

My symptoms are burning in the urethra and the constant feeling of needing to pee, which is usually quite hot & painful when I do but somtimes little or no urine comes out. The anus feels full & like I need to go, even if I don't have to, and there's a constant discomfort feeling. I've had these symptoms for about 6 months, but not constantly, they come & go and usually last a few days at a time.

I think that in my case I have prostatitus, because it's always triggered by masturbation/ejaculation and first happened after sex and the prostate is something that links both areas I'm having problems with, and also because this problem seems to be an entirely male problem.

I'm taking Trimethropin, which seems to solve the urethra burning symptoms (although I don't think I took them long enough before I stopped, which is why i'm experiencing the symptoms currently) and in terms of pain relief, I find cocodamol is effective and I take dissolvable paracetomols too, also Ibroprufen will help with the urethra problems as it's an anti-inflamatory..

I find making sure you get enough fibre & drinking enough water helps also (keeping the body 'regular').

A few people have posted about it being worse when they're doing nothing, and when I read that, I didn't think that fit my description, but I was experiencing burning in the urethra & a discomfort in the anus before I started writing this post, and almost immediately (when writing) it disappeared, so maybe that's right and it pays to keep your mind occupied.

I'm not doctor or anything, but I've done quite abit of research and in my case, I'm pretty sure it's prostatitus. I think that I have to stick with anti-biotics for a few months for it to disappear and I plan to keep masturbation to a minimum (sex won't be a problem, as I'm currently single & not looking) and try to keep my diet right. Hopefully it'll work.

It's worrying reading these posts and seeing people who've seemingly tried many options and failed, and doctors not knowing what is wrong and it can be quite depressing having the illness itself, 'cause it obviously effects the life massively, but try to keep positive and maybe take a few tips from this forum, or this post and I hope it helps.

Guys,

same story as the guy who started the thread.
Multiple doctors seen. Took several medecines.
Doxy and Cypro made me better for a while and it came back.
Urine was cloudy once in a while. Sugar and alcohol made things worse.
Finally one day, my urine was so cloudy even white at the end of the stream and I was able to take a sample and bring it for testing.
It was E Coli.. The thing with E Coli is there are defferent type of it and it got resistant to some medecines.
The test showed that Septra was the best one for this kind of E Coli. It was resistant to Doxy and Cypro..
It took 1.5 month of Septra to clear the infection and I feel fine again ;-)
Hope it helps ;-)

Use Vapor rub in your anus, it works like a charm.

Also, buy some aloe vera leaves, the fresher the better, chop a little crystal the size of a dime and introduce it into the rectun.

Also make sure you put the aloe vera into the fridge and wash your hands and knife before you use it.

I've had the same problem where the tip of my penis had a burning irritation. This all started the day after having sex with my wife. I did a urine test for a bladder infection and it was negative. The doctor also didn't think it was an STD, but she put me on doxy. After being on doxy for 10 days, I felt the same burning irritation in my anus. Well, after researching online and also knowing that my wife often suffers from a yeast infection, I figured that I had a yeast infection/male candida. I bought monistat 7 cream and mixed it with white vinegar and applied it to the tip of my penis morning and night. After a few days, I felt some relief and less irritation. I also a got prescription for diflucan. After about 10 days of applying monistat cream and taking the diflucan pill, I am happy to say that I am cured.

It seems that most doctor will link penis burning sensations or irritations to bacteria or an std and they will always prescribe antibiotics. The problem with antibiotics is if you have a yeast infection, it will make it worse and in my case, I think the doxy I was on help spread the yeast to my prostate which gave me the same penis buring irritation in my anus. Another symptom I had was a white tongue which is a symptom of having yeast in my body. All my symptoms are finally gone!

Good news for me (I hope this helps all of you)...

I experienced the same issues. I had unprotected sex with a girl roughly 3 years ago. A week later, I experienced a burning sensation...not so much DURING urination but when my bladder was full of urine. I got an STD test and my doctor at the time prescribed me Cipro and Doxycycline. I felt a little better but the discomfort was still there. In other words, I wasn't feeling quite yet NORMAL! The STD results came back but they were negative?! How can that be? I know I have something. So I just dealt with this discomfort for 3 years and kept telling myself "Well this is the way it's gonna be for the rest of my life...accept it." Also, I developed urine issues. Whenever I took a leak, I wasn't able to get all the urine out. There would always be a few drops left over when I sat down or started walking that would get on my boxers. Very ANNOYING. Anyways, about 2 months ago, I had unprotected sex with another girl (regrettably again) and this time there was a milky discharge (I tested positive for Chlamydia) so I went to my doctor and he prescribed me Axithromycin (I guess this antibiotic wasn't around 3 years ago?) I'm happy to say the Axithromycin (two 500mg pills) cleared up everything! I don't have burning sensation...I don't have urine leakage. It's the first time I've felt normal for 3 years. Like I said, I hope this helps...good luck to you all.

My question to the first guy in the thread who received axithromycin. Were there any physical changes to the way the tip of your penis looked? I have the same thing where the burning is worse when my bladder is full and when the burning on the tip is bad, so is the anal burning, scratchy feeling. I have very small almost invisible bumps on the cap and rim of my penis. There is a slight red rash again my doctors say it's nothing, but I was it was not like this 6 months ago. It was diagnosed as balantis and treated by my urologist. They think I crazy because I tell them I'm not better. Sex is uncomfortable because it is so sensitive and the burning, scratchy feeling does not allow my nerve endings to feel pleasure anymore......just a sunburned feeling.

i don't know if anyone still reads this but,
I'm a casual to casual heavy drinker. i've been with the same woman for 5 years we've both been tested and cleared of everything but yeast infections. She constantly pops up with a new yeast infections sometimes weeks after clearing the one previous. I notice the pain and irritation the most when im alone and surfing the web or playing a video game late into the night. It always feels better whn im in a bath but as soon as i get out its back and hurting all over again. Has anyone figured out or found out a cure for this. I'm going on 10 years of this pain and irritation and tried all kinds of things but i always come up clean for std's
