I know this is a year later but for anybody who is going through this condition use cocoa butter faithfully. I am mixed but this condition leaves a horrible dark spot on my leg that looks nasty. Cocoa butter(I use shea butter) helps the skin heal over the rash which will need to be done for more serious/permenant cases& it also help repairs the skin so that the rash will dissolve quicker. I'm am 19 & that stuff really saved my life .

Elise,

So glad I going your post because I'm also African American and haven't saw many posts for our skintone.

Have the spots disappeared completely ?
Did you wear any lotions while tanning ?

I've had PR for 3 months now and they went from pink circles to dark ones. Need to get rid of this already!
Thanks in advance

Hi i just had mine and its very very itchy :( cant sleep every night as the itch is unbearable. Can i sun tan under the sun?

I believe natural is always better. After I researched all my options when dealing with this rash, some did say they went tanning with natural sun light and saw the same results. I would try tanning in natural sun light and see what results you get. Expirement and see what works for you. At this point almost anything helps. Just be careful and be healthy. Too much of a good thing can be unhealthy and don't over due it just to see results quickly. Healing takes time and you don't want to make it worse by being impatient.

Everyone should take Vitamin E pills orally. Simultaneously cut open a vitamin E jellcap pill n directly apply generously on the spots of your concern

Do the vitamin E in conjunction to whatever else you see fit that's helps with your scarring

That's great news...
I'm a 19 year old girl...
Just got PR around 3 weeks ago... It started with an herald patch on my chest...then spreaded all the way on to my back...neck, shoulders, hands, stomach, upper leg..
I'm really disturbed, ... It was first pinkish in color...and now has turned brown and flaky...
The one's all around my neck and chest have faded ... I guess because that part is exposed to sunlight while I travel.. (the herald patches) although has left the patch shinny...
All the others have turned scaly..

I'm afraid,....wouldn't the scars leave me...
I hope God heals me from this..

You can try coco butter because when I had chicken pox I had so much black spots. I used coco butter for a year and it all went away the black spots...
