I DID CRYOABLATION TO REDUCE MENESRAL BLEEDING; IF I GET PREGNANT NOW; IS IT DANGER FOR ME OR FOR MY BABY; AND IF YES WHY?
Once you do cryoablation you can not get pregnant again? If you do get pregnant there is a small chance you can, then you should see your doctor right away. I had the cryoabaltion done a few days ago. They didnt tell me until it was over that It would cause sterility.Ive been wracked by horrible pain ever since I had the procedure done. If It was going to make me sterile and in this much pain they should have just done the hysterectomy and been done with it. I can not recomend this to anyone at this point. I left my docotrs office sobbing from pain and it has not let up since. Only high does pain pills allow me to even get out of bed. I came here seeking answers if it was normal.
As for why its dangerous. Because the lining of your uterus where the baby would attach itself has been destroyed.

Hello,
I know this is a old posting just thought I would still share this with anyone that would read this post. It's not true that you can not get pregnant after a cryoablation. I am living proof. Almost three years ago my husband and I tried to have another baby and end up having 4 mc's. Due to heavy bleeding I had a Cryo and I am now (3 years later) 31 weeks pregnant. My dr. did tell us we had 1-2% chance of getting pregnant and if we do get pregnant we may not carry the baby past 8 weeks. ell surprise surprise we are 31 weeks. The baby is very healthy. XD

Hello all,
I am 32 with a 11 1/2 year old and a 13 month old. Happy with my healthy children I already have, I had cryo-ablation to get "fixed" and to eliminate my period. My goal was to be 31 and have no period. Needless to say, I still get my period every month like clockwork. However, it is lighter and more bearable I have to admit....or should I say it "was".
October 20th came and gone and I didn't get my period. I high fived my sister and was jumping up and down that the surgery had finally worked for me.....ummmm, think again. Needless to say a couple of weeks ago I started to gag every time I brushed my teeth, a tell tale sign that I'm pregnant. I took two home pregnancy tests and you guessed it, both positive. I called the doc and he called me back and said "No Debbie, that can't happen, we did the ablation surgery on you, right?" He sent me for blood work because he seemed to not believe that I was pregnant. The doctor's nurse informed me the next day that I indeed was pregnant and my levels looked good, and they scheduled me for a sonogram 2 days later. Sonogram showed a healthy sac and baby with a healthy heartbeat. This was last Monday and I was 8 weeks and 2 days according to the measurements. I am scared to death, because I have read about the chances of having uterine rupture and placenta accreta etc and my doctor is refusing to give me stats or odds on that happening. He actually seemed like it was news to him that it could happen at all when I told him what I have read.
I have a high risk doctor appt tomorrow morning and I'm hoping they can shed some light on my situation, in the meantime, I wanted to see if anyone out there had any good answers or has been through this etc. Please let me know what your doctor has told you if you have been pregnant after cryo-ablation surgery.
Thanks so much!
Debbie

my dr told me it is a must for some type of birthcontrol after an ablation it doesnt stop you from conceiving just lessens your chance a bit
Debbie,
I hope your pregnancy has gone well for you. I had the cryoablation. I was told I had a chance to get preg. I was also told during my pregnancy that the baby may stop developing. We did lots of praying and had lots of faith. along with lots of u/s's . We now have a very healthy baby girl. She is a true miracle. Our Dr. has been doing Cryoablations for over 7 years and we are the first to have a full term baby. The pregnancy normally terms at about 8 weeks.

I just stumbled upon this thread and had to put my two cents in. I had my Cryo done last August 2009 and the Dr put me on birth control right after as she stated you definitely can get pregnant, but the chances of a healthy pregnacy are slim. I stopped the birth control in Feb 2010 and really thought there was no way for me to get pregnant, especially since I never got pregnant in the 10 years my hubby and I ahve been together. Well I just found out that I am now 5 weeks pregnant and at age 40 this puts me at an even higher risk. My Dr. has referred me to a specialist so I can find out what my chances are. Before this my hubby and I had decided no kids (even though he never had on, I have a 19 year old though). Now of course we are confused and don't know what to do! Should we take the risk? I hate to get our hopes up of possibly having a baby only to later have a miscarriage ro a child with a disability. I know it woudl just devasate nmy hubby if we tried and then lost his only chance of having his own child.
I really enjoyed reading these post to know that I am not alone. Thanks so much for the posts...it's very comforting to see that women have had a very successful pregnancy even with a Cryo. I guess I will know more after the next Dr. Vist on what my chances are.

Hello,
I was the person that posted several years ago. I had a cryoablation and then had a very healthy baby girl. I had 3 very good Dr.'s and they knew where I stood after having 4 mc's. I was 38 with 3 kids(16, 12 and 7). I was under allot of stress due to the worries of the pregnancy. My Dr./s didn't sugar coat anything. They told us all that could happen. We had a c-section along with several extra Dr.'s and nurses to get ready for the worse. With lots of prayer everything went smooth.
Good luck

Your testimony makes me feel so much better because I had the cryoablation back in 2009, however I'm 9 weeks pregnant now. I've been reading so many horror stories, I was starting to get a little discourage. I'm continuously praying that all goes well with my pregnancy. So, thank you for reassuring me that there's hope.
I was researching pg after ca only because we have a suprise baby en route. Little bit of history:
~Horrible tubal in '97, causing R tube to be unusable
~Sterilization in '11
~CA in '12
~L tubal in '13
Now we're expecting in Nov! :O Due to history I am being monitored closely, because this was not only unexpected the complications can be bad as well. I am beginning to agree w/my OB and everyone else that THIS baby wants/& is meant to be here!
You all have made me feel more @ ease...Thanks!
Just curious if everything is still going smoothly with your pregnancy?
I had cryoablation in October, 2014 and after that wretched pain & bleeding stopped I haven't had a period since. Til today, I just voided (sorry if tmi) and to my surprise I wiped pale pink. I wouldn't freak if it weren't for the fact that I've been getting really nauseated lately and now I'm reading this thread. Plus I just turned 41.!.! I'm disabled and on high dosage pain meds. Should I call my doctor first thing or wait a few days to see if I start a real cycle? I know we aren't professionals but any advice/prayers would help my anxiety at the moment.
That's very strange they didn't tell you once you had at that you could not have children. I had it in 2012 and had to sign all kinds of paperwork stating that I was aware of that very fact. I was in horrible pain right after the procedure but it subsided the next day. Because of all the complications I was having I'm incredibly glad that I got the pretty procedure done. It was actually life-changing for me.
Yes doctor are doing it for the money
I told my gynocologist. I wanted children. We had plenty of conversation about this. I trusted my doctor. I told another gynocologist about the procedure. He educated me about this procedure. I was so angry and hurt I trusted her. She only wants the money. My well being didn't matter. Only God can heal my heart and mind.
