i had mine taken out 2/6/09. i did ok starting out but after 3 weeks, i was miserable. for the last 2 weeks, i've been having blood work and ultrasounds. the pain is 10x's worse than the attacks i was having prior to surgery. the week before surgery, i was in the ER twice. my gallbladder was full of stones and scarring so it had been an issue for a while. i always thought i was having colon attacks til i had one so bad that i ended up in the er. anyway, today is monday and i've been in horrible pain since last thursday. my ultrasound results came back today and showed an enlarged common bile duct and a stone. i was told this was fairly rare. my pcp said he couldnt get me in with a gastro until mid april. i came home today and just cried my eyes out. there is NO way i can wait that long. so i did some research online and called around. i told my story to a nurse at a clinic in the town near here. she is working me in this wednesday and said i may get lucky enough to have the ercp done on thursday.

my advice to you all that are still in pain, do not ignore it and feel free to get a second opinion. you can't put a price on your health and life. also, as for the bowl problems, i am taking Colestipol. i only take it twice a week (sunday and thursday) otherwise i would be constipated. it is a prescription. and it does help. hopefully that will help some of you.

i have gone through a bottle of 60 percocets in the last 6 weeks and just got 20 more today.... i feel like i just cant take this anymore. i'm only 29 years old and feel like i'm falling apart thanks to this surgery. mentally and physically, i am just worn out. have any of you needed another surgery after the first one? thanks in advance.

i had my gallbladder out in june of 08 and i am SO bloated and FAT.
i feel like ive gained about 50 lbs, but its only (HA!) 17. my belly is SO bloated all the time, i look like im 6 months pregnant. i constantly burp and fart, i dont eat red meat, very low fat, and lots of veggies.
right after my surgery i felt 1000% better, i lost weight, i had tons of energy, YEPPIE!! it was fantastic. now here i am almost a year later and im sitting here, thinking i have some type of disease, by body feels worn out and old. oh and my belly is boiling super hard, but i havent been able to predict if im going to beef or beltch. sexy!!
i cant believe our doctors dont think all this weight gain and this "feeling" has anything to do with gallbladder removal. i look unhealthy. my skin has lost its glow, and its all zitty. oh, and i sweat A LOT.
i used to be a model, for peets sake!!!!!!!!!
i am RUNNING to GNC tomorrow to get those enzymes, liver flush and that fat burning mushroom!
thanks, i hope it works!

I guess I should have done more research on this instead of listening to a Dr. I had my gallbladder removed on Friday..and ever since I have been bloated, constipated, had strange abdomen pain, fever, chest pain so bad that it made me feel like I could barely breath. Today I took a laxative since I called the surgeons office and asked if it was normal that I hadnt had a bowel movement since before the surgery...well now I am having some of the worst diarrhea/pain/cramping symptoms I have ever had in my life and I have IBS so that should say alot..Im use to having those pains but these are different. I dont feel good at all after I eat no matter if I take a bite or eat a whole meal. My stomach ALWAYS feels full and like something is sitting right below my ribs in the center just pushing. I am 21 and DO NOT want to be miserable the rest of my life due to having this out..if all of these symptoms are so common afterwords than WHY do these dr's push us to have the surgery? Cant they come up with other forms of treatment? I would rather have a gallbladder attack and lay in bed with my pain pills than deal with this everyday for the rest of my life.

I had my gall bladder removed when I was 18. I am now 36 and I still haven't got pregnant despite an active sex life. I recently read on the Internet that the gall bladder is found inside the womb which makes its removal very dangerous. I can only imagine that when they removed my gall bladder, they cut the wrong tubes... oh well never mind, at least I'll save money on diapers and Christmas presents!

I had my gall bladder removed with lasers 1 year and 9 months ago and my son was 9 months old at the time. It took me 2 weeks to recover and get back to work. I did experience pain in my stomach but that was due to the gas that they put in you to expand all your organs during the surgery; this way they easily identify which organ is the gall bladder. The best advice to give is move around because that absorbs the gas do get it out of your system. For about 6 months following the surgery I did experience digestive problems. For example after eating having to run to the bathroom right away. But all those problems went away and I can pretty much eat anything I want and I don't have any problems

i am 21 and had my GB removed 5 days ago. As off right now i think i am feeling ok, my pain seems to be coming from my abs and not my stomach itself. i have been able to eat normally, obvisouly havennt tried anything greasy or fatty and have had fairly normal solid bowel movements, the most recent being quite green which is how i stumbled on this site. after reading these posts i have become quite terrified that my life is going to be completely ruined. it seems that no one has an inspiring story and i am very scared.

I had my gallbladder removed in 2001 and I still have diarrhea and yellow bile. (sorry, I know it's gross). Soon after I eat a meal, I get stomach cramps and have to get to the bathroom. After all these years, I still will not go out to eat any where. Any one else have this problem. Thanks for your input... Liz C.

Hiya

I am in exactly the same position as you, within minutes of me eating, and sometimes even while eating, I need the toilet. I won't eat out anymore, I don't eat breakfast as I panic that I will need the toilet on the way to work on the bus.

I had mine removed in 2007 and I really wish I researched it, we went on holiday to Spain last year and I could not sample any of the lovely food and could only eat in the hotel cause I knew there was a toilet near.

I was on that orange powder stuff you mix with orange juice (sorry cannot remember the name) but it did not help me. I take 8 imodium a day and even they don't help most of the time.

A few of my biggest no no's are lettuce, any dairy and burgers.

Hello, I am a 27 year old that used to suffer from gastritis because 5 years ago while pregnant with my son, I was diagnosed with numerous gallstones. I used to have horrible gallstone attacks. It got so bad that they had to induce me at 38 weeks and take my son so they could speed up the surgery process. So after my son was born I had to wait 3 more weeks for my uterus to go down so they can do surgery to remove my gallbladder. I had my gallbladder and the gallstones removed but oh my goodness.. I was having horrible gas, going to the bathroom right after I eat and miserable up until about months ago. It was so bad I used to go the emergency room almost every other night for gas and heartburn. The doctors in the emergency room would give me GI cocktail. Some kind of mixture of Maalox and some other medication that worked great for a couple of hours. But of course that gets expensive because I still had to pay my expensive emergency room visit. I also had all kinds of medications prescribed, nothing worked.. About 6 months ago I had a endoscopy done because they thought I had a ulcer but they didn't find nothing... So basically that organ (gallbladder) is put there for a reason and we need to live. I also sleep sitting up at night because if I lay down I wake up feeling so queasy and feel like i am going to throw up but i don't. Since then about 2 months ago, my hair stylist had joined this business and she would talk to me about their products and I was just interested in this "body magic" garment were u dropped three sizes in 10 minutes.. But anyway to make a long story short. There is a juice drink called Levive offered by the same company that makes this body magic garment (which also works). Basically this Levive juice have 5 antioxidants producing fruits in one product; Mangosteen, Noni, Acai Berry, Goji and Pomegranate. The combination of their juices leverages their synergic action in your body cells' aging processes while helping in many areas of health. With that being said. I have being drinking this juice and I have being feeling 100% better with my gas. I also sleep laying down at night now!!! I cannot leave the house without taking some of my Levive. U only have to drink 1 oz. 1-3 times a day preferable before or with meals. I used to pray and pray and ask God to send me an miracle and i think this is it!! Everyone that I know that is in the business with this company says it helps with a lot of different they have and gives them energy.. I love this juice and it is ideal for the whole family. I also shared this with my doctor who used to prescribe me many different medicines that didn't work and he is too very interested on getting more information on this juice!! So I basically wanted to share my testimony with everyone that has been having problems with stomach problems and so for. I have listed some helpful information to back up my testimony as to how powerful this Levivie juice is. It is not made to cure, diagnose, or treat diseases, just to HELP with numerous things and the research below will give u all the details! .. I will also include my website because I have signed up to become a distributor JUST to get this juice at wholesale price with the company so worth it!!! Feel free to ask any questions..

Just looking to find out more info on how to live without a gallbladder which I just had mine removed & Im concerned that I might have to deal with stones now in the liver as the liver is making more bile now as it contantly makes the bile now because of no gallbladder to store the bile. Hopefully I will find some answers on this.
