I had the same pain in my left shoulder and was told it was totally normal. I had my surgery done labriscopiclly ( i know i spelled it wrong lol) but it is done with lasers and computer. The pain is from the gas they use to inflate your stomach. I still get pain in my back and shoulders after 9 months since my surgery.
I had my gall bladder out 3 years ago and after 6 months, I couldn't eat anything or I'd be sick. I took a medication called colested (or something like that) for bile dumping from my liver. It helped. However, I still have problems about half the month with my stomach, leaving me nauseated and foggy-headed and hot flashes (not menapausal related). I do better if I eat smaller meals, but sometimes, I can't function for a few days. The doctor told me that there are about 120 enzymes in our stomach and any of these can create havoc once your gall bladder is out. I have problems with hypoglycemia since my surgery as well. I have learned that alot of people have their gall bladder out that may not need it. I encourage you to talk to a "legitimate" naturaopathic doctor before you decide on surgery. Gall Bladders can be working poorly and natural medicaitons can help improve their function resulting in NO surgery at all!
the doctor that did the surgery for me, told me that if you have diarrhea that its ok, but if your stool is yellow or orange, running a fever , shaking, disorientated , or pain worsen to call him immediately. doesn't mean that something is wrong but, something could be, and you should have it checked. I would think that your surgeon in pre and post Op- would of told you this, this is why you were to have the person that would be taking care of you, to go with you, so that they also could remind you of what you needed to be doing or not doing , feeling. Take surgery serious, and what the doctor has to say serious. some of these posts are crazy. " my stool is yellow and I have a fever" IM SURE THE SURGEON SAID CALL ME IF ANYTHING GETS WORSE. if nothing else the nurse or receptionist should be able to help you.
and they should of also told you, or you should of asked, that 5% of people who do get gallbladder surgery can not eat certain foods, its not because of the doctor its the way your body digests foods. your gallbladder was hurting for a reason, it could no longer store the 'bile' it needed to aid your digestion. so please, if you cant eat certain foods, stop eating them, find something that works. My grandmother when she got colon cancer found out she could not eat anything with flour in it, so she has to go all to whole wheat's. so don't forget to read labels and find out what works for you instead of complaining you cant eat your curly fries and elephant eat in one sitting. Also if your in pain, go to the doctors. sometimes it takes just that one doctor to find it for you, it took me 20 years to find out that my gall bladder was in some serious damage. but so far it has been worth it!

I had mine out 3 months ago and im young. I got sick right away we think because of pain meds i had diarrhea and then got a little better but not much. about one month after (rightbefore a school trip) i got it right after i ate anything so i stoped eating except like dry ceriel and crackers. (oo before i hade it out for like 1 year i had diarrhea also after i ate) now the diarrhea occurs about 30 min after eating. I have no idea what to do im going to college soon and i don't want to have to spend my time in my room or bathroom.
I had my Gall Bladder removed about 14 years ago, and it has been a nightmare ever since, I had a lot of pain when eating, something I had never experienced before, as I could eat just about what I liked, but after having Scans and Cameras put down and up they decided it must be my Gall Bladder, there was no stones at all just what they call sludge type gravel, so I had it removed, the next day the Surgeon came and spoke to me and said, Cross your fingers that it was your Gall Bladder, because he did not seem to think that this would have given me so much pain, I am under the Specialist for Stomach problems, and back and forth all the time, I have tried just about everything I can as well as the Doctors help, I have plodded on with some sort of life, I still have to work for my living, if you can call it living, I like most people suffer pain in my right side and back. I have been a Nurses Assistant and know a lot about the Human Body, so I decided to start to try some alternative sollutions to my on and off pain, and I kept a diary on what I was eating, it seemed if I ate anything fatty or spicey, I would get terrible pains and then Diarhea, the pain and inflamation of my Stomach would last for nearly two weeks, all I can say is for me, I cut out all Dairy foods, just recently, with no spices, I dont eat Red meat, I cook a lot of fresh vegetables, Chicken, Fish, and everything that is wholesome, it is a nightmare buying packaged foods from Supermarkets you have to read every label for food ingredients, like two weeks ago I made a Sunday Dinner like I usually do, but I had run out of my Gravy Granules I normally use, I had bough another brand, and used that, then the next day I was in agony with the pain, and two days later had violent diarhea, I am still not very good now, but gradually improving, till the next unknown item flares it all up again, it has been trial and error the last fourteen years, the last time I seen my specialist, she said sometimes when you are having your Gall Bladder removed they can damage the valve or duct in the Liver and may require surgery to put it right, my Bile comes down in one go and it sometimes goes into my Stomach instead of going into my Intestine where it should go, unfortunately as we get older the opening from your Duodenum to the Intestine becomes defective and it does not open and close when it should which can lead to backflow of Acid or Bile into the Stomach, I have had Acid tests done and they have come back nothing wrong, and the Doctors have perscribed Lansoprosol and Omeprozole all these years, and it has been Bile all along which I told them ages ago, as when you are on Acid supressent tablets and you still get the problems, it has to be the Bile that is agravating my Stomach lining, so I am now waiting to see what they are going to do for me after all this time suffering.
I had my gall bladder removed about two years ago. I had mild diarrhea at first, and then it got worse. I noticed a trend though. I am currently unable to have any sort of caffeine or spicy food without having raging and painful diarrhea very soon after. It's a pain in the neck. It's rediculously sensitive to the caffeine too. I had a finger of some chocolate icing once and I was in the bathroom for about two hours after.
Wow!!!! I don't know who told you that a gallbladder is INSIDE your womb, but the fact that you believed that is just as scary!!!!!!! FYI.....your gallbladder is near your liver!!!! Your liver is not in your womb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your surgery has nothing to do with the fact that you can't conceive. I'm just sayin!
I had a c-section in sept 2010 with a lot of complications. Turns out, the hormones from pregnancy can cause your gallbladder to go on the fritz and quit. Mine did. I had a 0% ejection, which means it was completely non-functional. I had it removed laproscopically on Oct 1st 2010 and was discharged the next day. I did make myself walk a lot, which was very painful, but made my recovery much faster. Now that its been 4 1/2 months, I have gained a ton of weight. It shows on the scale and in my looks. =( very frustrating. I find that eating a lot make my stomach very upset. I have been sick on and off for the past month with nausea and vomiting. I thought it was my hormones, but now I think its from having my gallbladder out. The last couple weeks I may eat 1 meal a day with a couple snacks here and there. I still don't feel right, but what I don't get is the weight is still packing on!!! I feel like I could completely quit eating and I would still gain. So, I did a little research and the findings were: women on a low fat diet who did not exercise much if at all had an increase of 2.1 points in their body mass index (BMI); women who exercised regularly and were on a low fat diet had an increase in their BMI by 1.4 points. I havent changed my diet since the surgery. Everything tastes different and I have had NO diarrhea, just constipation. I weighed less pregnant! Thats not right!
Ask your Dr. about taking Cholestyramine, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cholestyramine
After having my gallbladder removed, I was scared to eat anything because I knew I would
be running to the washroom with in minutes of my meal. It is a horriable feeling.
Some tips on taking Cholestyramine:
Do not add to food, makes it taste awful.
Add a package to 2-3 ounces of water,
let it settle in the water for 5 min., stir and drink.
You will get use to it.
Make sure you brush your teeth after about 20 min,
as it can stain your teeth.
I take it once a day, at 7am, but I do not eat for at least and hour and a half.
If you take any medication, wait at least an hour or so or it will just absorb it.
It has worked wonders for me. :-D

my girlfriend had her gall blader removed about 8 months ago she looks about 7month pregnant can anyone tell us why this is?she has also just lately, been wetting her pj bottoms its not a lot but she is so upset and cant seem to get answers?
All of you should be aiming your symptom questions at doctors -- gasteroenterologists, or at least your regular physician -- rather than getting advice from anyone selling anything. Patient-to-patient suggestions are great for hearing about different personal experiences, but dear god, if you're experiencing frequent diarrhea or incontinence, you really need to talk to someone who will give you a thorough and personal evaluation. And for nutrition questions, consult a registered dietician. In the U.S., only 30% of medical schools require a separate nutrition course, whereas an RD maintains registration through professional education.
I had my gallbladder removed over 6 years ago and still today I have to run to the bathroom with explosive diarrhea ad have accidents while in public. Four other members of our family had this proceedure done and they too have the same problems years later. Working and raising families there is no time for enemas and the such, Why haven't they perfected a once a day pill to help with the constant diarrhea.
I had my gall bladder removed in 2009 after a sudden severe attack that landed me in the ER. I had the gall bladder disease and gall stones. I got pregnant in 2010 (a year later) and my daughter was born May 2011. There were no complications, and the pregnancy and delivery went smooth. It didnt affect it at all. I havent even really changed my diet since the surgery... I do notice I go to the bathroom a lot more, and more frequently after eating certain foods, but otherwise, I still eat what i used to eat. I have a wicked sugar tooth. What I am wondering, is that since I still eat sugary foods, if any other complications could occur in the future? Like serious problems with my liver or something? That is really my only fear.
I had my gallbladder removed and had the same problems you were having (except I lost weight). I was sick for a whole year and they could not figure out what I had. A year and a half later I got diagnosed with Celiac Disease.
Get tested for celiac's disease and gluten intolerance. This causes the same symptoms you are describing.
