In a word, it's suck.
I read the directions carefully, following word for word. You spray it on, wait five minutes to dry, and in 2 to 4 hours it turns you 3 shades darker. As Goette Une and I are really fair-skinned and can't tan, we gave it a whirl.
The thing is, you don't have to rub it in and if you do, you'll get orange hands. But b/c it's a clear spray that you don't touch, it's hard to know whether you're totally covered or not. It's only after 4 hours or so that you realize the answer is...not. And now you have streaks that are about 8 times darker than your normal shade. And who knows when they'll go away?
I want my money back.
UPDATE: I called Neutrogena and told them my deal and in fact they are refunding my money.
At least they are refunding your money! That's a huge plus to me buying their products.
wow. glad i havent tried it yet. its been sitting in my room for about a month.
May I recommend bain de soleil tinted (I'll have to look up the exact name when I get home) and I apply it with latex gloves...its a pretty natural color (many out there are orange, this is brownish) and because its tinted you see where its going. I haven't mastered the "wash your hands immediately" thing so I find its safest to use latex gloves then do the backs of my hands last, with the back of the other hand (if that makes sense).
For your streaks: try an exfoliating scrub like an apricot scrub or loofa and it will lessen it. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience! good for you for calling, maybe they'll change the product.
