I hope that by now your daughter has been given a quality evaluation. To assume that hemorrhoids have been causing her pain, even though you state she has been "constipated since birth," is a bad plan. If you haven't seen to it that another physician examines her - you should do so.

jim i hope by now you are feeling better, i have had hemorrhoids on and off since my first pregnancy. im 60 now and after planting some shrubs i had a terrible flare and am facing surgery. no conservative treatments have worked. i also have leg and foot pain, headache and lower left abdomen bloating. suppositories, pain medicine, warm sitz baths, all of it a fail. not happy about surgery but just get the best one you can find. good luck. i feel your pain. and its so embarrassing and no one knows how miserable it is if they dont have it.

BAND THEM. I have read a number of these posts but have not yet read anything about banding.  The doctor does this in the office.  This procedure is for internal hemorrhoids only.  An instrument grasps the hemorrhoid and then slides a tight band around the base. Done.  There is some pain for about 12 hours after.  I take a couple of extra strength Tylenol and go about my business. The ache is no worse than the hemrrhoid pain was.  By the next day I feel fine.  Within  a couple of weeks there may be a spot of blood when the hemorrhoid falls off.  The only thing is the process needs to be repeated as new hemorrhoids enlarge.  I have been returning once every 18 months approximately. The hemorrhoids are not growing back.  You each probably have a half dozen or more of them.  The doctor choose the biggest or the bloody ones to band.  When others act up he will remove them too. Each removal makes scar tissue and eventually which strengthens the wall of the rectum.  After a while new hemorrhoids stop forming.  I have gotten great relief.  No anethetic, no prolonged recovery, very effective.  Even repeated visits will cost less in the long run than surgery.  The results are instant and after the first day, completely painless.

hi Jim. You can try adding more high fiber foods on your diet. Doing so will surely alleviate the pains of hemorrhoid. .Fiber makes your stool loose and moist making it easier to remove.

I just had the surgery yesterday and i am in alot of pain. As i just got done trying a sitz bath it helps a little. I vomited twice and dont know why. Still waiting on bowel movement. Hopefully this surgery will be worth it in the end.

Have had pain in the anal area that actually caused severe pain in my buttock, down the left leg and into the outside of the foot. This recent time, I noticed a hem had popped-out (which happens often) but also that there seemed to be a tiny fissure. PrepH never worked for me. WHAT DOES WORK for me, is sitting in a large bowl (we have a huge wooden salad bowl) filled with a mixture the hottest water I can tolerate, and EPSOM SALTS. I sit as long as I can. Without exception my symptoms have always subsided overnight, or at least started mending immediately. I pretty-much know an ice pack won't do a thing for me but numb the pain temporarily. Needless to say, the salad bowl is now the designated sitz bath.

How bad is the pain bc I'm gonna have surgery too myself. My back and legs hurt I don't know if it from the hemorrhoids or not.

I have the same issues you do, I have been suffering for 10 years. I have had so many surgeries and been to so many doctors . Now it is down to scar tissue, or nerve damage in the meanwhile iam still in pain. Doctors think I'm crazy I have been to so many ERs it has consumed my life with no end in sight

I had a colonoscopy a few months back & read so much about it before I had it not one comment frm people gave me positive vibes but honestly once it took place the pain is nothing just abit uncomfortable. Tbh I lost half a stone stressing about it but it was a piece of cake like I mentioned just a little uncomfortable but not worse than childbirth

I find sitting in very warm baths helps. As the piles Thrombose (blood within congeals into a lump) the blood flow through the thrombosed vessel decreases - and this is what could be causing pains down leg into foot. Cold water will only suffice to constrict the blood vessel marginally and impact on the problem. Warm water relaxes the blood vessels allowing more blood to pass the Thrombose giving quite rapid relief.

If I dont want to run the bath, I lay the shower head in the basin spraying upwards and I squat on the warm flow. (Quite pleasurable if wriggle to the right spot... who doesn't like thiur anus tickled?) ;)
