First all sorry if this is the wrong area. It seemed like the most fitting but I might of missed something. On topic! I am 22 and I have had puffy areolas for quite some time now. Probably around 8-10 years. I go to the gym frequently I dont know if that helps it. Just curious if there is something wrong with me or its normal? My friend has made fun of it and so has my girlfriend but I am not sure about it. I seen some sites say its puberty but I'm 22!!
I am wondering if chest exercises such as bench presses may be helpful. Reducing your body fat with diet (high protein, low carb) can help tighten your skin.
I do bench press my max is around 270
Hi. As I could find out, the best way for you to get rid of you puffed areolas is the surgery. Many men have puffed areolas, and some find this very unattractive and some find it normal. If you are really bothered with this issue than the fastest way to get rid of this is the surgical way. And the procedure is not that big of deal. Nine days after procedure you will have no problems, you wound will heal and you will be able to do all the things that you have done earlier.
What causes it? And does it affect physical activities such as gym?
Do the puffy areolas cause you any pain or anything like that or is it just a cosmetic thing? As best I can tell, if it's solely a looks thing, it might be best to skip the surgery. If your friend and your girlfriend made fun of it, I feel that's just insensitive. Having a puffed areola can be caused by a number of things but one I can remember is having your nipple pinched in some way. Is it both of them or just one of them? And as hoseclamps mentioned, what is your BMI? Maybe it is due to a higher body fat percentage.
I am not over weight I weigh 165 and I am 5'9" but I lift weights as a routine 5 days a week. Before the gym I weighed 140. I know my weight looks like I am but I am very skinny with mainly muscle as a whole. I dont think it could be a weight issue!
I'm just throwing some guesses out there! I can't tell since I don't have much detail on you so I was just trying to figure out what the issue is. I don't think you mentioned if you have sustained any injuries to your nipples at any point. In any case, like I mentioned, if you are concerned about it you can probably get some surgery on it if you really feel concerned about it, but it could be expensive. Good luck with this in any case. Thanks for keeping us posted.
No I never sustained any injuries at all.
Hi HunterKorvis, have you considered surgery? This can be effective way to solve your situation.
Have you seen a doctor about this? If so what did he said to you?
