Hello,
I react very strontly to certain perfumes, soaps, detergents, lotions and the like. My allergist diagnosed quaternary ammonium, which is a family of chemicals that include quaternium-15, chemicals that end in "-onium chloride" and sometimes contain the word "quat" or abbreviation "PQ". My symptoms include severe throat, eyes, nose/sinus, ears and mouth swelling.
Any ideas on dealing with this? I avoid the products myself and use soaps such as Tom's of Maine. Any medication that could protect me form the sudden swell up? I don't want to use prednisone all my life!
Any thoughts welcomed!
