You are right but also the serotonin does not produce anymore and affect your mood and can lead to depression.

Yes, I am diabetic and low blood sugar causes brain fog. Try a small amount of OJ or soda (not diet). I am also hypothyroid and that can cause fog. A lot of people who quit smoking are diagnosed with hypo soon after quitting.

Fog has been my big problem with quitting. I am close to 2 years and still have fog. Trying to figure out if vaping would cure fog. You may have just answered my question. Please keep us updated. Thanks!!!!!

Almost 2 yrs for me too. I used honey-menthol cough drops to open my head/sinuses to breath easier. Even though I did not have sinus symptoms, it helped me to breathe deeper and take in more oxygen. Makes me feel more awake. Maybe that and deep breathing exercises would help you. Hope it gets better for you.

f i take anything menthol it does make it easier to breathe but i have no sinus issue too. Thing is i cant figure out if im stuck with more o2 or more c02. Either way i know stopping smokin has started whatever this is but giving all the info as to how better u shud feel quickly, im beginning to think it may be a bigger problem than just stopping smoking

Kathy what is your history, how many you smoked and how many years and your age?

Smoke a pack a day for 30 years and then 7 cigs a day for abt 5 years. Quit 2 years ago. Age now is 56. Health problems made my quit much worse. I believe it is like surgery....easy for a 20 year old but same surgery could kill a 50 year old.

You quit in 2008 , and still have all these problems?

You sound like me explaining how I found this page, although I smoked a pack a day for 15 years at most. Sinuses are the worst! Starts there, moves to the throat, moves to your ear or ears then settles in your chest.

I'm on day 74 and its been absolutely brutal. I went cold turkey as well. My heart rate has been so high i have been in the hospital several times. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with smoking cessation. I also am still dealing with all the things you mentioned too. Well Good luck.
