I had my nose done by Raj 20 years ago . It was an amazing experience. Even back then , I had very little swelling and felt great. Raj is an artist.. I went on to have a very lucrative modeling carreer. In 20 years I have never had anyone not be totaly surprised when i have revealed to them that I had my nose done. I am happy to say that up until now, I have not needed any other work done. But if and when I do, I will fly back to L.A. and only go to Raj.
have you guys heard of Dean Toriumi? i heard that he is THE BEST rhinoplasty surgeon in chicago. I would like to know who would be better Toriumi or Kanodia.
I just went to Dr Raj yesterday, and let me say, his bedside manner needs improvement. (I was going for a nose job consult) When i met him He did not smile or ask that many questions. He examined my nose for less then a minitue, and then we went to his office where he showed me pics of other patients. I'll admit that the pics looked good, but he was so impersonal and unfriendly. He didnt seem to care, more like he was in a rush to get me out of there. I understand hes in high demand, and the best at what he does but come on now? Can you at least pertend to be happy to see a new patient. I asked him if there was a risk of complications and he said NO. that was all, nothing more or less. I would have went thru with it if he was more considerate and approachable. His assist was the same, very cold and monotone. 8-|
All in all, he may be the best at what he does but i wont fork out 12000 for a doctor who doesnt take the proper time to tell you risks, complications, questions, or even the method he will use. I was very dissappointed by the whole appt. %-)

How long does it take to get an appt. for a consultation w/ Dr. Kanodia??And after how soon can I get a surgery date? Also, does anyone know of any other surgeon who is top notch in LA and specializes in rhynoplasty, who I don't have to wait too long for??. I would like to have surgery in March of 07.
Your response is greatly appreciated!

i had a consultation with kanodia a few days ago. he is REALLY rude. when i asked him a simple question he screamed and kept saying "if you dont trust me then find another doctor. you dont need to ask me a question if you trust me."
he's INSANE! and his cost is 15000.
however, as far as i know he is the best. his work is amazing.
does anybody know who else in b.h. is really amazing? for around 8k? i am willing to go to another doctor if i could just find out who else has a reputation like that? i'd hate to go to a jerk just because i know there's no huge risk.

Just curious, what was the question that provoked the "rude" response? Were the questions routine or insulting? I found Dr. Kanodia to be kind and thoughtful, so I'm wondering what happened differently...
i would say keep searching. the consult was 10min at that for 200.00
it took six months for me to see him. i dont know how long for surgery

my friend recently had a nose job by dr kanodia, and she looks amazing. he charges quite a bit (around $14,000), but to my knowledge, he is worth every penny. people literally come in from all over the world to see him, and he counts many celebrities as clients.
Dr. Kanodia is so expensive because he was on TV. It is all hype. I have looked at his web site and thought it was one of the worst I have ever seen. His before and after photos were okay, but by no means the best I have ever seen. FYI--he is not a plastic surgeon. He is board certified in Otolaryngology (E.N.T. which is short for Ear, Nose and Throat). Truly, that means he is an Otolaryngologist. Not a plastic surgeon. A real plastic surgeon is one who has done his residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. If you want to know who is real, check out surgeons on plasticsurgery.org. He is not board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. If I were to get plastic surgery, I would want a surgeon whose training was not that of cleaning ears and taking tonsils out.
I just recently had rhinoplasty in newport beach, orange county. my doctor was Dr. Dubin. he has been a plastic surgeon for 30+ years and is widely recommended here. he is one of the best. and it turned out to be 9700. so i cant imagine dr. raj being any less than that. i had called for a consultation to a Beverly Hills doctor and i forget what his name was but it was 15,000. most of it is because of their publicity. they feel that they can charge you more. but that doesnt mean that someone else can't do just as good of a job ya know. i had absolutely no bruising when my cast was taken off. i loved my doctor.
He has a stellar reputation & has clearly done great work..BUT he is insanely expensive (hype related) & has a poor bedside manner. The wait to see him is incredibly long & the consultation is a let down. I'm not sure at all that he is so much better than a more personable & reasonably affordable plastic surgeon who is Board Certified.
I wrote their office to find out pricing because I was also interested in Rhinoplasty...they took forever to write me back (which I considered slightly rude) and when they did it was to tell me it was $200 dollars for a consultation visit and the surgery itself, on average, is about $13000...which I was absolutely shocked about, as I had always heard, as well, that the best surgeons can go up to $7000, but $13000...if you have that sort of dough, then good for you...for the rest of us I guess we have to afford the cheaper, less known doctor...unless of course they have payment plans...
Sorry to upset you guys but he is REALLY PRICEY! That is what bothers me about the mandatory $200 consultations. I paid $200 for a quick consult. Granted the doctor does seem to know what he's doing. I coudl tell he is good. However I was STUNNED by the cost. I don't have a bad nose. I just wanted it tweeked. I was given a cost of $15,000!!! No lie! $12,000 was the doctors fee and the other $3000 was for the anesthetic. Oh but don't worry. The $200 will be deducted from that cost. lol.
i live in georgia and want dr. kanodia to perform a closed rhnoiplasty on me. i just called his office to schedule an appt, the lady that answered the phone was VERY RUDE!!! she put me on hold for 5 minutes (which was fine) then she came back on the phone and say "YEAH, WHAT DID YOU WANT?" i started telling her that i have decided to go with dr. kanodia and telling her where i lived and she totally cut me if in mid sentence and said "HOLD ON!" put me on hold for another 5 minutes, came back on the phone and replied "OKAY WHAT DID YOU WANT NOW?" not only did she make me feel like i was bothering her, but the whole conversation was VERY unprofessional!!! i think when someone makes a decision to go ahead with a life changing procedure like this that costs between $14,000-$18,000 (that is what she quoted me during our conversation) they should be treated with respect and professionalism!!! being that i live in florida they recommended that i only make one appointment with them. so that i only have to fly out there once. she also told me that i need to take pictures of the front, right side, left side, and looking up, then e-mail them to dr. kanodia and someone will get back to me within 2 weeks. i asked when is the earliest they are booking, and she said august. i sure hope that the rest of his staff are not like the front desk girl! actually i hope that the doctor isn't like the staff that he has hired! i will keep you guys posted!
After waiting for 7 months (!!) for a quick consult I too would like to echo these recent postings. The whole experience is a disappointment. The asking price is OUTRAGEOUS, several thousand dollars above what one would expect ($14000). I get the feeling that all the press has resulted in a bad attitude like "take me as I am or go somewhere else" & that is very unfortunate for prospective patients.
