Can you tell me what the recommended cycling heart rate for new starters is? Im 30 years old and I think Im in a good shape. After 30 minutes of cycling my heart rate is about 180. Is it normal and do I have to reduce it? I wouldnt like to lead to heart condition and unrest. Otherwise, I dont feel exhausted after my training.
First of all, Id suggest you to buy a heart rate monitor which youll use always during your training. Those devices usually measure blood pressure and provide you with several other important exercising parameters. As for your heart rate, its still comparatively high and I think its maybe because youve just started cycling. You need to work out a bit in order to reduce HR. You should also know that you shouldnt exhaust yourself and its of vital importance to gradually increase mileage. Dont try to over-exercise. I advise you to talk to a fitness instructor and make a plan of exercising. You cant start riding long routes until youve gained enough strength and learned a few techniques.
