I had minor hameroids for a while and had this problem which I guess caused me to take more notice of goings on. It caused all sorts of issues for me including anxiety and depression. I actually worked out after a while that some seafoods caused discharge for me. Crustaceans eg prawns, cray, shrimp and also shellfish. Fish though seems ok. I can get away with the odd prawn or oyster but if I have anymore than that the issue returns temporarily (for a day). I can't have a feed of these things or even an entree. So now I avoid these foods and I have no issues. Hope this may help someone out there
how can you get rid of it
I had this problem for over a year and it was getting worse. About 5 months ago, I started a KETO low carb/high fat (LCHF) way of eating. It's not a diet; the food is great. I no longer eat anything wheat based, processed, or which contains sugar. My carbs primarily come from non-starchy vegetables. My life has completely changed for the better. I've lost over 30 pounds without effort (I weigh less than I did in high school!) and my leaky behind is now a thing of the past. Try it for a month to see if it helps you. BTW, this way of eating has also taken away my joint pain as well as my high blood pressure. It's a miracle.
You describe my habits almost exactly, and I share your speculation that the problem has been, at least in part, my hygiene habits, coupled with IBS (whatever that really means in terms of prescriptive diagnostics). I cut dog training pads into square to deal with the leakage, which is just amazing in terms of how much mucous is draining.
The challenges to living a normal life are rather more than just annoying: changing pads every hours or two is ridiculous, but that's what I have to do. I should note that the discharge is, for me, odorless and clear, just like mucous coming out of my nose after a sneeze, except for a lot more than that, as well as unrelenting constance.
I am going to schedule an appointment with a colo-rectal specialist, but I hold little hope for a solution, given that the people who post on threads like this are, for the most part, without a solution (other than the few who recommend this or that herbal remedy).
Again, I am grateful to you for bluntly and clearly explaining your condition and your suspicions as to its cause. I wish you well, and if I find a solution, I will surely post it here.

I also suffer from this...the brighter the blood the closer to the rectum it is which is positive..i also get clots...i have been diagnosed with chronic colitis finally. It took a bvery long time to receive a diagnosis and i got extrememy frustrated. During a flare up i take steroids, an antibiotic, and pain medication. Tjis seems to work
You should condult a new doctor, one that does not know your present doctor.
I have this problem also. I discovered I can use those round cotton un-medicated make-up remover pads to absorb the drainage. I buy mine at the dollar store - 80 pads for a buck. they are softer than , just the right size and absorb well. Be sure to remove before going to the bathroom as they are not flushable and could clog your plumbing.
I have had a colonoscopy and also get much pain after eating.
Anal mucous discharge also.
