i too have this. the best way to control it is to take over the counter anti-diarea medication.  Small green pills.  take them with with every meal.  this helps dry up the situation.  i encourage you to try it.  it is cheap and effective.

Im 29 and i have been having this problem for a few years now as well. Talk about embarrassing! I don't even want a BJ cause she might get a whiff of that nasty smell when i take my boxers off. I would never want to touch her if i took her panties off and smelt this smell, wow! Ive gone to many dr.'s and they all stick their fingers up my butt and say oh gosh, everything is just fine... thanks Doc!! could you go a little easy on the K-Y Jelly... my god... I've done the stool samples, blood samples... everything! I have read soooo many forums and posted on Dr. websites and no one knows but theres millions of people with this problem. There are a few similarities that i have found though that could help...
I noticed some people had a lower back problem which caused nerve damage which somehow caused digestive issues and anal leakage. Trying to get a dr to give an MRI is impossible it seems. (In Canada anyway)
Another possibility i read up on was "Anal Abscess". I actually just found this tonight and I think I will schedule an appointment to ask the dr about the possibility of that. I definitely recommend reading about that.

This is such an embarrassing problem! My buddy calls me "poogoo" Its actually kind of funny. But embarrassing...

I'm a 65 year old woman and just started on statin medication to lower cholesterol. Today I noticed some mucous discharge but no itching or burning. I will contact my doctor. Thank you so much for sharing!

I am 32 and started seeing the mucus discharge about 1-2 months ago. I am hoping that it is a result of hemorrhoids as I was very soar when cleaning myself after using the restroom and notice a bit of blood. However, I took that as I was wiping too hard and with tough toilet tissue. I have done this in the past before. The pain persisted about a week and I could see what appeared to be a hemorrhoid. I used caution when cleaning, used baby wipes, and applied a hemorrhoid cream and it went away. However, the discharged has continued. I go to the restroom 1-2 an hour to ensure I am cleaning and I can always see the discharge, sometimes a bright reddish color.

I have been tested for food intolerances (through a blood test) and have been completely avoiding those foods for three years. I still have the problem and have no idea what's causing it.

I went to my gastrointestinal doctor. Be careful with fat free foods. they contain alcohol sugars. alcohol sugars can block the absorption of water in the lower intestine. The discharge symptom. My experience has been abdominal cramping mucus discharge coming out of my anus, no diarrhea just mucus, no order. I did have a colonoscopy and nothing was found. my gyn thought that it could be endometriosis? any thoughts?

I'm searching for the cause of some new issues. I have what I can only describe as anal leakage and this new offending stink that I'm now producing. About 6 weeks ago my doctor put me on Pravastatin and since then I've had these two issues. When I first noticed the the terrible smell (10x's worse than normal) I told myself that my body is getting rid of the bad cholesterol and triglicerides but now I'm wondering what is worse, the cure or the problem. I've even had a couple of "sharts" which completely caught me off guard. There's got to be a better way... perhaps I need to take a serious approach to diet and exercise.
