Thanks for a positive post. I am scheduled for surgery this week. Scared out of my mind but determined to proceed.

I had the opp in which they cut them out as I lost half of my blood supply in 3 weeks. Although extremely painful it's worth having it done. Prepare to be off work for at least 6 weeks to fully recover. My problem were pain relief as I'm elergic to most. Try not to worry or read horror stories about the opp. It's not as bad as it sounds. Have it done! it's not half as bad as I'd expected and I'm elergic to most painkillers. I survived on paracetamols and ibuprofen.

Hi

I had mine cut out in February and have just noticed a bit of blood in the bowl again. It's seems new ones have grown. What to do now is the question? As my G.P was useless in giving advice pre surgery and it took an emergency hospital admission and needing blood transfusions before the issue was dealt with. Any advice would be greatfully received

I had the surgery 1 year ago. Went very well. Took percocet for about 4 days. Out of work for 1 week. But other than that no issues. Now a year later I do have another one, but it is not from anything to do with the previous surgery. I would have surgery again if the doc recommends it

I had this op 3 wks ago. Yes I was told it's very painful and would need 2-3 wks off work, but I was not informed of any other complications.

I am healing well but was left with a weird skin tag on one side, which has now swollen up and I think is another hemorrhoid!! I'm using anusol and hoping it will go down as it is so so so Very painful. I think if it wasn't for this I'd actually be ok.

B/m are painful, but bearable (unlike the 1st one - omg). Although when I need to go I have to go, which worries me when I go out.

I feel so fed up, I want this pain to end!!

I've had surgery twice, and have gone back in only to have been told I need to have it again. It's been about once every four years, and even though the recovery is the worst, the time in between when I'm not having issues is great. My doctors have told me it will be a reoccurring problem for the rest of my life (I have IBM and many intestinal problems). My sister has been recommended to havenit, but we have discussed her comfort level and she can handle it without needing surgery. I have a lot of blood loss so to lesson my anemia it's for the best. Best of luck to anyone who needs to have the surgery.

I'm 29 had started developing Piles since age of 13, finally after lot of pain and suffering got them removed in 2013. Following which They didn't appear until day before yesterday, the previous night of which I had lots of spicy food and Indian Pickles! I had a restrained diet since the operation but recently I am forced to eat ready to eat stuff as I ve been away from home since past 10 months. Moreover I even stopped my exercise since I exams are approaching at college and have to balance part time work as well. I feel overall three things have a direct effect on piles, first one being food or diet, exercise and lifestyle. Sitting for long hours at same place without a break is a perfect no no for piles, spicy food great enemy for piles, bakery products if consumed continuously over 2-3 days are very harmful for piles and hypertension or too much worrying is bad as well. For staying safe I shall once again start a refrained diet of no spicy food with more fruits and vegetables and fibrous foods, lots of water and jogging at everyday. In case of extreme pain sits bath with iodine solution in hot water for 15 mins for a few days helps with immediate relief from piles. Hope no body goes through the pain and suffering I have gone through. Take care folks. Eat healthy stay healthy.

Hi there, I suffered with first external and then internal rounds for close to 8 years. In the latter years I managed to push them back in after a BM and off I went with my day. However, one fine day my luck ran out. They just would not go back in and over a day became swollen and thrombosed. The pain was excruciating and I have a significantly high pain threshold. I am 195cm and weight a good 94Kgs. The pain brought me to my knees. I got my self admitted, followed by surgey to remove 2 huge roids. Day 6 on from surgery, yes it has been a painful trip, but no where near any of the horror stories that I have read on line. God bless! The pain medication helps me manage. Lots of high fibre food and ample rest. Morning BMs are the ones that hurt thee most, but he pain can be managed. Tomorrow is my first day off pain meds. I truely hope I can manage. I am just focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel hoping to return to some normality with life.
I would suggest a seeking a second opinion. If the same solution is highlighted then it's something you should think hard about.
Good luck,
VRP

Post op day 6 now. Completely agree, follow the doctors instructions and take your meds religiously. Yes, it's an uncomfortable ride but, the pain is manageable. Morning BMs
hurt the most for me, but with the pain medication and some rest it's manageable. I just hope this aspect improves ASAP. Quality of life has to improve. Be strong.
