Thank you so much for sharing. I am a girl and just about 2 months ago I started breaking out in this incredibly itchy rash. It cranks up horribly after sex, gets red sometimes and just this week started to flake skin. I at first thought it was STD's but have since ruled that out. Your symptoms sound just like mine and I am plannin gon heading to my doc to ask for that cream. Thanks for the help! :)

This is the best reply yet. I also cleaned up with a sock and believe that I got a fungal infection as a result. I started using Lamisil for athletes foot and the itch is going away. Funny thing is, I bought it by mistake thinking I was buying something for Jock Itch. Well there's a little bit of brilliance in every mistake.
I am female and have had this same problem for about half a year. It started out as what I believe was just a yeast infection, but the doctors had me on long-term antibiotics for the duration of my pregnancy. When I got such a bad yeast infection that I thought I was going to kill myself from itching so bad, I stopped taking the antibiotics. I started researching what this annoying itch could be and found the only answer for me was candida. Candida manifests itself in many different ways, including headaches, tiredness, yeast infections of the vagina, etc. I went on the Candida diet for about 2 weeks and the itching was gone. However, when I stopped it, it came back again. So I know it's related somehow. Now I have developed these dry itchy patches, and I am seeing a doctor in a couple weeks to have a biopsy taken of them. I HIGHLY recommend that you do this, since in my experience with different illnesses, you can run around in circles until you're blue and everyone is telling you something different. So far, my doctors have insisted it's just a yeast infection but I am convinced there is something more behind it.
might be fleas?
I don't know. I have been to three dermatologist and they say it is ring work but none of the anti- fungus creams have worked so far and it is itching constantly. It's embarrassing and uncomfortable to say the least. If its fungal it should have gone by now it has been at least three months.
Here's a very effective tip if you don't mind but if you literally shave everything off then it goes away, well this is how it works on me and there's no irritation what so ever. Hope this helps
I've had the problem everyone is talking about, the red itchy patches in pubic hair, and I've noticed over a 15 year period that every time I eat an excessive amount of sweets at one time I get these spots within 24 hours or less, usually just one and it goes away after using hydrocortisone cream for about a week but the older I get more patches break out.
Correction on this post. Instead oh hydrocortisone cream I use Neosporin crime. Sorry about the mistake.
