I have the same thing about 1 year also. I do think it is internal issue. Have been trying to stay away from Gluten, take high doses of probiotic(I think over grown yeast in our system), B- vitamains, coconut oil,vit e and selenium, stay away from sugar and only each fresh made foods mainly from my own kitchen. If I eat out salads or protiens and veggies.

Use lotions with hyaluronic acid, 100 % sea berry seed oil (seabuckthorn oil)can be taken internal in capsule form or liquid form on effected area.

These things have help alot. I have almost over come most of it but has been a long process.

Did you ever figure this out? Just curious bc I have similar symptoms and think it's a bacterial infection.

I went to a naturopath who put me on probiotics as she believes have to sort out the stomach first (which could be a bacterial infection I guess). She also sent off a hair sample and it came back for me as very high reactions to dairy, egg and tomato. So I have eliminated them from my diet. I had a slip up a few weeks ago though and ate some lemon cake with yogurt and then a few days later a creamy ice-cream, the next morning I had a flare up. She believes if I had one of those I may have been okay, but two dairy intakes my body couldn't cope with. So now I am being very strict and hope they will be okay. In the meantime when I do have a flare up and have to deal with it I have to take prednisone and have found applying lots of pawpaw cream helps to keep them from drying out and quickens the healing process. Hope this might help, it's an awful thing to have :(

My sister have this exact problem. Are you a Vegetarian by any chance ?

My sister (69 years old ) has developed this problem. Red, itching skin around her eyes. She is in the process of seeing doctors to determine the cause. She is a strict Vegetarian and sometimes I think she does not get enough protein, although she eats beans and other veggies that may have protein. So, can I ask if you are a vegetarian ?

I'm 48 and started looking for solutions this morning. I've been putting coconut oil on it but its not going away. I just found some article and I'm going to go get some Neosporin now.

Skin conditions are typically an indication that something is off inside your body. I have dealt with perioral dermatitis, cold sores and also a red rash around my eyes. Nothing has helped as much as changing my diet. Check into getting some food allergy testing done. Also research candida and leaky gut. Candida causes leaky gut; allergies can be a sign of candida.

Wow! I am 46 years old and have been suffering with this for almost two months now. I may have developed eczema, or a super allergy to something in the air. My guess it that the "preventative" tree spraying in my area could cause this. Is any one here from NYC?

I had the red rash around the eyes,& it was slowly getting worse over a few months. I noticed that the worst spot was the corner of my eye that was typically munched into my pillow each night, i.e., warm & moist. That got me thinking fungal involvement. It was also in the creases of my lids, & up near my eyebrows.
I made a mixture of 1/2 Nystatin lint & 1/2 hydrocortisone cream, & applied it 3 or 4 times per day. It took at least 10 days before I saw results.

Weeks later, it can still pop up a little, but it doesn't scream at me! I still use my mixture once or twice a day, or just the Nystatin at night. (Mine happened to be a greasy looking ointment vs a cream.) I am very pleased with the results from this tenacious disorder.

I had the same thing for almost two years. I was prescribed a steroid cream and it helps but they are saying to only use for a week. I went to an eye doctor and got an ointment. It helped for a while and then came back. The most important thing is to change your shampoo. Use baby shampoo. Now I found Metaderm eczema cream. You can buy it from Amazon. A lot of reviews are saying that it helped.

Ask about polymyositis. Was diagnosed today. Exact same symptoms. Autoimmune disorders.

This was my first thought when my eye lid rash broke out. I had just retired and was spending much more time at home with my cat who had developed a drooling problem due to missing teeth. He loved to rub against my face in affection and I noticed my eyes would itch and I would touch them often at the same time that I was patting the cat. These were just thoughts, no way to know if there is anything to it. I am watching it though as a possibility.
