I have also been having a similar problem which also started about a year ago. Today I went to the Dermatologist, and she asked if I previously had a rash near my mouth or nose, which I had but it went away quickly, she said that I have Perioral Dermatitis. She is having me discontinue the steroid ointment, and has given me a prescription for Minocycline, and a non-steroidal cream. I am really hoping that this works, I will keep you posted.

I had itchy, red, swollen, wrinkly eyes for about 2 years. Guess what the cause ended up being? Gluten. Try a gluten free diet.

Hello-
I have red eyelids, red areas on the side of my eyes and small red bumps on the forehead. My Dema Doc. gave me Prednisone. It worked but after a couple of weeks it reoccurs. Again he gave me Prednisone and it came back. I have also had Kenalog shots but the redness /peeling reoccurs. The Derma Doc just gave me Tacrolimus 0.1%. I read about the cream on the internet and is prescribed as a last resort. Using it regularly can cause cancer. I have had numerous allergy test and all negative. Presently, I'm taking Benadryl along with the cancerous cream.

I've had the same problem and baffled. I have had numerous Kenalog shots, Prednisone, cortisone prescriptions and the rash reoccurs after healing. My face also peels. Have no idea what it is. Visits with Allergist, Dermatologist no cure. Changed laundry soap, face soap, avoided cosmetics and have tried numerous things over the counter including organic soaps, creams etc.

Are any of you contact lense users? My rash around my eyes was due to over use of my contact lenses, causing irritation within the eyelids that ultimately manifested as a rash around the eye. It can take up to a month to clear, with the use of specific eye drops as well as an anti-hystemine. I also had to stop wearing my contact lenses during this period.

This plagues me often. Red, splotchy, itchy, dry rash on eyelids and around eyes? Had this for about 3 years. Seems to be coming on from a combination of stress, and allergies. I have used many topical creams by doctors but the best by far was actually prescribed to me by an eye doctor and it's called Triamcinolone. Seems to clear it up within 1-2 days. While it's clearing up, wash the skin as many times a day with johnsons baby shampoo. That's right, baby shampoo. It's very gentle so it helps take away the itchy flakyness of this rash and eases that itch. Make sure you keep your hands washed regularly because this rash sometimes shows signs of spreading if rubbed or scratched too much. If it swells your eyes shut like it sometimes did mine, keep interchanging the washing with baby shampoo and keeping a cold rag on your eyes. With the new topical cream, I haven't had a bad breakout in months, which is a great relief. Good luck and I hope this helps.

Hi, did you get to the bottom of this as my girlfriend seems to suffer from similar symptoms without any indication of what it could be

I have a rash around one or both eyes that comes and goes, and starts in the morning. However apple cider vinegar helps and after awhile the problem will go away, but varies for how long (varies from days to years). I use Braggs acv on a cotton ball and dab around my eye on the rash. The longer and more often I do it the quicker it dries up and goes away. It seems like face lotions cause the problem, even Cetaphil. I have sensitive skin.

Also when I start to have pink eye I'll let a diluted amount of acv in water drip into my eye. Here's what I do: soak cotton ball with mostly water and very little acv, close eyes, then dab cotton ball across lid, then open eye a bit for a second or as much as you can handle the stinging. If no stinging add a little acv. The more stinging the quicker the resolution, at least for me. Always clears it up.

Ditto. I've been told it's eczema, I've also been told it's an allergy to nail polish. I've been dealing with this condition for going on 3 years now. In the last 8 months I have developed chronically chapped lips. If I cry it extra irritates the condition around my eyes, causing stinging pain, redness and swelling. I've been told to keep Vaseline on my eyes and lips. I can't use any Chapstick that has spf protection in it. Those Chapsticks make my lips itch terribly! The skin on my eyes and lips cycle through dryness, then skin peeling, and tender redness and swelling, and back to dryness. Any solutions?
