This sounds like peri oral dermatitis. Did you dermatologist refer to this by name?

I had this rash around the eyes 3 years ago. Nothing against doctors, they have their place in this world, but usually they are treating symptoms, not a cause. I managed to get rid of this rash in about 3 months by myself. I wrote 5 pages report about it but did not know how to deliver it to people who are interested. Maybe I will make a video and put it on youtube. If anybody is interested sending this report, I will be happy to help. I am not trying to sell anything, there is no magical cream involved, just my own experience.

I developed a rash under my eyebrows but above my eyelids sound 3 weeks ago. My doctor said hydrocortisone should do the trick and he would give me something stronger. I said I would stay with the hrdrocortisone but it is not working. The section sometimes becomes redder and itchy.

What was you solution? Thanks

I don't know how else to deliver this report to you so I made a kindle version. It's only $1.99. You can look it up on amazon - kindle: Healing rash around eyes by Jana Mosely. I hope you will find it.

I'm a healthy 19 year old male from Turkey. I don't have any allergies that I know of and I never had any sort of a major illness, not even a fractured limb.

However, I realized that this condition began to show itself under my eyebrows aswell. I bought a bar of soap that is made with olive oil. I wash my face with it everytime, after shower or shave, or even after just waking up. It seems to have fixed the situation for me. Hope this helps someone.

It's called the butterfly rash and the reason is an autoimmune condition.
Controlling the condition sometimes help.
It can be as common as a Thyroid condition, or as rare as an autoimmune encephalopathy.
Seeing an endocrinologist is a good start.
Good Luck.

I have also had this rash around my eyes for six months and have been prescribed creams with cortisone and prednisone. Only reduced the redness swelling and itching. I have been told I am allergic to makeup. I ceased using it and still had a problem. Two nights of using baby shampoo (j&j) and can't believe the improvement! I hope it continues. Thank you for the great suggestion. I am also using a clean pillow case every night.

It's all tied to your immune system and gut health. Get a food sensitivity blood test done. Then avoid thoes foods. Your gut can heal and your immune system will stop attacking thoes areas. The medical field will dispute this but it is true. You have food sensitivities, not allergies.

I've had same said rash for  9 months. Mainly in the outside corners of my eyes, but then the rash as of late spread to eyebrows and lids and seemed to be moving around. Went to 2 dermatologists in that time, one prescribed antibiotic cream, (didn't work), the other hydrocortisone ( didn't work ) and I had tried at least 50 other things that didn't work either. Tried tea tree, peroxide, alcohol, antifungal cream, essential oils, vit e, glycolic acid, essential oils, drying masks etc. Nothing worked! I was exasperated! Then I read this blog, ( the whole 254 testimonials) and saw a common thread of positive results people claimed worked for them. BABY SHAMPOO!  Really? Could it really work? I gave it a try.  I washed with it and went to bed. In the morning when I looked in the mirror I couldn't believe my eyes! ( No pun intended) but my rashes were almost gone! I looked better than I had in months. Day 2 , barely existent. Day 3, no rashes to be seen and  day 4, completely gone! Who would have guessed such a simple solution? Thank you all for sharing and getting the word out. Doctors didn't help me; people sharing their TRUTH DID.

I read on this thread someone suggesting Nizoral antidandruff shampoo. THANK YOU! After months of trying everything, this totally cleared up my rash.
