i am a 33 year old male, and tonight after masturbation I noticed red in my elements, which I'm assuming is blood. I've read in other posts that it could be seem sex, but I wanted to run my situation by the forum just in case it's not a coincidence.
My girlfriend and I two nights ago decided to have sex on her period. She was in the middle of her period. We are both std free and she is on birth control, but I didn't wear a condom. I cannot remember if there was anything wrong with my semen that night. tonight before bed I decided to masturbate and saw after ejaculation that there was red in my semen. Our sex the previous night was Pretty rough.
My question is, does the red in my a semen have anything to do with her period? If not, then what else may be causing this? Thanks in advance.

No, the red semen has NOTHING to do with her being on her period.
You said sex was "rough." You can cause slight trauma to the urethra and other structures with rough sex. While it can be upsetting, the red semen can/does happen occasionally. I wouldn't worry about it. It should clear up after a few ejaculations.
If it continues more than a week or so, see your urologist.

There's really only one thing which makes the semen pink, and that's blood. If the colour is more of a brownish again this would most likely be blood but the longer it has been there the less red/pink it will be, changing to what some people describe as a brownish colour
The most likely cause for this is an inflammation (swelling) or infection of some part of the semen-producing 'equipment' This being the testes, the epididymis or the prostate gland.
Embarrassing though it is this happens with quite a few guy's. The commonest causes of this are actually very easily treated.Ignoring it is not a good idea. Have a word with your mum, or dad, even a older brother if you have one as someone needs to take you to see a doctor and get it treated. Don't worry it wont hurt and the doctor is used to seeing these things all the time.

How long has this been happening? It should clear up on it's own, after a few times of ejaculating, over a week or so.
If it doesn't then you'll have to tell your parents. Just say "man problems" and you need to see your doctor. Tell your parents that you'd ask them to respect your privacy in the matter.

I just wanted to add if it does get to the point you need to tell your parents, I have a son age 11 and I know he will be doing the same thing as all other boy's do in a few years, and I would really hope if ever he had problem or question he would ask me, I think most parents think this too, so yes as embarrassing as it may be if it does carry on longer than Medic Dan has suggested you need to say something. It may help if you write a note and give it to them if it saves you cringing or explaining it as if you had a wet dream - which again all parents are aware happens and we expect to happen. The important thing is getting it fixed - IF it turns out it needs looking at :).

Sometimes this happens Briston and yes, it can be scary. Usually it isn't anything serious and OFTEN nothing is found.
As I said, it can take a few days to even a week or more to clear up. It all depends upon how much you ejaculate.

Usually the problem, if there is one, is around the seminal vesicles, where the semen is stored. You have to ejaculate all the pink semen before it becomes clear.
