Hi, I'm female, age 29. I've been relatively healthy so far, nothing major. A few months ago I had a cold that left me with a small lump I could clearly feel on my neck. I first thought it was just swollen lymph node, but when it didn't go away after 2 months I saw my doctor. He told me it was not a lymph node and sent me to see endocrinologist and do the blood work for thyroid hormone levels.
Now that the results came in, it seems my thyroid levels are just a bit lower than normal, but what scares me more is the result from the FSA needle test that says the lump is suspicious for follicular neoplasm. From what my doctor told me, there are good chances this is just a benign tumor, but that it might be smart to have a surgery to remove that part of the thyroid. They can't know if it's cancerous or not before the surgery and if anyone has been in this situation, please, any info is welcome.
