You're not alone, I've had two physicians tell me that I should have little to no pain. I asked the second physician, do you have this condition?

I suffered for years with mine. I had a grade 3 left sided varicocele. I wasn't able to do any exercise without being in horrible pain. In the end I decided to have varicocele treated. I had varicocele embolization a couple of years and it got rid of mine. It's great not to be so much pain after any activity. It's a horrible condition that makes your life miserable. I sympathise with you all.

I was diagnosed with Varicocele (painful ) in 2014 and was operated in 2015. Managed an year using Athletic support. I had same problem, lower abdominal pain and pain in left testes. And the main thing, Doc insisted that the pain cant be sharp, although my pain was sharp enough. Anyway I was doing well post surgery. Unfortunately, the painful varicocele is back and the same doctor who operated me is refusing to operate me. And its painful. In India we generally go for surgery. It definitely works. Remember there are chances of recurrence, but then thats just a bad luck. Bearing the pain is not a solution.

HIV does not cause pain.

I had a left side varicocele and the surgery was no big deal...sore for a few days but recovery was not bad at all. As long as you take it easy and ice it up you will have no problems. I had about a 3" incision in my groin but could shower the next day.

IT is absolutely unconscionable that any medical doctor would tell you "you should have little to no pain." This is a LOW LEVEL thinking person who should burn their medical degree. Medicine is not a one size fits all. It's like some of these docs have a shared psychosis. A pernicious groupthink. They've read the same thing over and over again and think it's applicable to all people without the slightest regard to individual medical needs. Disgusting. Varicoceles ARE PAINFUL despite what some low critical thinking doc tumbles from his or her mouth. Maybe they need to see a shrink and get on Ritalin or provigil. Start elevating the choline in their brain. Something. Get it together docs or find another profession. You are harming people.
