Ask your doctor for Valium or Xanax. It will reduce the ringing.
I am approaching a year of non-stop ear ringing. I can also hear crunching in my head as I turn from side to side. Don't know if that's sinuses or not. While there is much I don't know, here is what I "do" know and hope that it may help some of you.
- 10 months ago I was exposed to a very nasty mold, Stachybotrys. I know this because I had the nasty mold tested after I tried to remediate it on some sheetrock and did a piss-poor job. The c**p got airborne and I guess I inhaled it despite having on a respirator.
- A few days later I became quite ill, while chills, fever, nausea, dizziness, and yes ear ringing.
- I have had a CAT scan of my sinuses, which now are thickened due to the trauma of the mold exposure.
- I had a very expensive urine test ($500) which showed I have so high levels of the the Stachybotrys mycotoxin called Tricothecene. The only way to get this is an exposure to the mold.
- I went on a crash diet of no wheat, no sugar, no alcohol. I lost 20 pounds trying to starve it out of my body. Its kind of a gluten free vegetarian diet all wrapped up in one, and you will lose plenty of weight.
- I then went on a mediation called Cholestyramine (CSM) to help get rid of the toxin from my body. Now this stuff works, has no ill effects, and helped my dizziness in a few days. I stayed on this for 6 weeks (3 times daily an hour before a meal).
- Now I am left with sinus issues. Constant Post Nasal Drip, some headaches, ear discomfort, ear ringing, and constant pressure in my head. I've tried Flonase, Singulair, etc, etc, etc. and none really seem to help.
So, if you just can't find the answers you are looking for, consider the fact that you "may" have been exposed to a harmful mold. While I don't have the answers yet to get myself back to full health, at least I know what is causing it so that I might eventually fine an answer.
Good luck...
Keith

I don't like tinnitus
I have had a ringing noise in my ear for a while now (very annoying). I searched online for a solution and came across a book. I really enjoyed this book because it is straight to the point. A lot of other books have a lot of filter information and I have to spend a long time reading before I get to start implementing the tips. Fortunately, I was able to get rid of the ringing right away, and am really grateful for this.
Never stop looking for the treatment you want.

Hi do you still have this problem..cause I am going crazy and can relate.
WOW! Soothing like a vacuum. Needed to hear this.
I am 58 yrs old and have never had ringing in my ears. this ringing has been going on for almost two months. I do not listen to loud music nor am I around any loud machines. It just happen to come on without no reason and it is bothersome to me. I think it is caused by allergies and the reason why is my eyes will burn and occasionally sneezing and my ears feel itchy and hot inside like I have fever and I don't. plus my head will feel like sinus pressure does cross your head and around your eyes. I pray that this will soon stop. I see I am not alone in this situation. I am on Ranitidine 150 , tranxene, and I take ibuprofen. I have not had any problems while on these medicines I take until a few months ago.
Maybe you should recognize that anything not normal should be investigated and treated not ignored. Mold can be the root cause of your ringing.

I have severe dust allergies (allergic rhinitis, or hay fever).
I am itchy 24/7, I have headaches etc... and suddenly one of me ears start to ring and the other is blocked. (I'm 13)
I took an antihistamine and I used my prescribed nasal spray to help but it's not going away.
The thing is, I'm not sure if I'm allergic to grass, since yesterday I sat on it.
I got hives after, redness and a bit itchy, although my ears become blocked and ringing a day later.
(My ears were blocked and ringing a couple of weeks ago, the day after I went to the park with grass)
I don't think that my ears blocked and ringing is caused by grass allergies but maybe it could've helped with my allergic rhinitis.
Is there anything that I can try to may help?
