Wow! I didn't know this happened to other people! I first had this sensation when I was 20. I was itting in meditation and it felt like the room was spinning. When I closed my eyes, it felt like it was me who was spinning. I was alarmed, but then realized I didn't dislike the feeling and wondered what would happen if I just let it be and paid attention. I realized that it was pleasant, like taking a not-too-fast merry go round ride. Fearing it definitely made it scary, but approaching it with the curiosity of a child dhanged all that. After that, when it happened, I received it like a gift and I just let go and enjoyed it. It came and went sporadically for about 30 years, then gradually stopped happening. But after 7 years, it came back the other day and
I welcomed the sensation like an old friend.

Hi, I know it's been awhile but did you get your situation figured out? I am only getting BPV when I am in a sleep state not a wake state. Thanks!

Hi can some one help me. It happens to me very time I lay down and close my eyes not when they are open. It feels like I'm drunk or my brain is spinning. Should I go to doctor?

I have the same problem. It doesn’t happen all the time, and it only happens when I’m laying down and my eyes are closed. It feels like the room is spinning and my head feels like it’s moving back and forth kinda fast. When I open my eyes it stops. I’m 25 years old, if anyone was wondering.

I'm terrified because I have that really bad, even when I'm wide awake, like I was just playing the piano and the music sheets and my piano looked like they were sliding away from me. I also hallucinate quite badly and I see the lights in my room flickering and people talking who aren't there and faces peeking out at me from places and I saw someone walk past my bedroom window the other day, but I'm on the second floor! Please help, I'm terrified. I told my mum and she says that it's 'normal'. This has been happening as long as I can remember and it doesn't feel normal T^T I also have really vivid dreams, as if the problems I have in the day aren't hard enough...

Apparently it's very normal and common. I don't think you'll need to.

I am so glad I finally googled this, after years of on and off room spinning. Just when I am about to fall alseep it happens, room starts spinning, faster and faster and as if someone is trying to talk to me. I got scared in the beginning and wanted it to stop spinning. My friend that passed away years ago came to my mind as soon as I forced opened my eyes. It happened randomly for some years.
One time I went for my regular yoga class and different teacher wanted to end with a meditation. I was intuned and being a good student. I started having the same dizziness again, I knew I was in the room with other students and whole room was spinning. My friend hit my mind again while my eyes were still closed. I forced myself to open my eyes, because I got scared, wasn’t sure if I was going to faint in a class. The teacher explained after when I told him my experience. He said when you try to meditate that’s a different vibration and if you are new to it it can be scary, it’s like your mind is at one speed butthe vibration of the level you are entering is different speed. He told me to practice more often. Actually, I just didn’t want to experience this dizziness. It happened to me many more times in bed, I would even begged for it to stop. I know for sure it wasn’t my sleeping position or my ears. Anyways, I didn’t experience it for a while, forgot all about it. My grandfather just passed away last week, my son and I grieved, we are recovering. We had a good evening, went to movies and dinner. I was cuddling, laying next to him while he fell asleep, my eyes closed and again.... room was spinning. But this time, as if someone was guiding me through it, the spinning kept slowing down. But as soon as I lost my focus I would feel the spin again. I lost my focus big time, and opened my eyes. Came to my room and googled.
I don’t know what this is, I am not losing my mind, for the longest time I didn’t even want to believe what I was feeling. Without any judgement, has anyone felt as if there is more to the spinning room? I really want to know what’s going on.
