Omg, yes, I think you nailed it! Same here: light pinkish spotting, then nothing for a day or two, and then it finally starts properly. Same issue with the smell. I’m about to turn 47, so, yes, this sounds like a very logical explanation.

Have you ever considered your having a miscarriage? Unless you have your tubes tied...then i would definately go to your local health clinic or hospital. You also could have cervical pre-cancer...i would definately get it looked at
This should resolve itself once your period is over . Sometimes this happens from bacterial growth in the body while we are menstruating. I would not worry at this point unless it does not go away after cycle is over.

The smell is so bad I have to open the bathroom window it happened today I wasn't bleeding I got to the toilet on time and a bunch of blood came out I finished my period 3 days ago now like 7 years ago this happened bedtime I ran to the bathroom sat on the toilet just Brown blood came down it smelled the whole house I had to open the windows I am 51 at 26 I did get the wall of my uterus burned and Frozen I'm thinking it's menopause but I only smell that one time it happens and I don't smell any longer

Have the doctor check you for STDs or bacterial Vaginosis . I've had the same concern and have learned all doctors do not test you for bv or give you the medication because they feel its something that your body can fight off. Its crazy I had to become a whole health care provider to get proper care for my vagina. I thought I was the only person with the problem, good luck
Yes me too everything I just read in comments is ecacly me aswell..ransid smelly menstrual blood no matter what i do it stink so bad it gives me a migrane ...i know it's not an infection...im menapausing...bleeding more than normal due to my age..dr says nothings wrong..i do think that some pad such as some of the always pads stunk alot more when thier is more plastic in the menstrual pad...id never use a scented tampon or bad..who to smell you even on the rag?... is thier any renal spats or powders out thier?...i hate the constant smell instant headache..if I could afford it is love to try a natural cotton reusable washing machine pad...
You can also just EAT the yogurt. It work that way to balance all lower body organs, yeast infection and colonic issues. You don't need to squirt it up in you. Yeast infections during a period smells like rotten corpse. I recommend not douching (if you must just use plain water not hot not cold ) over use of douche for a smell can actually make it worse.
