Hello everybody,
I assume this goes under plastic surgery, because I am guessing I will need laser surgery to fix it... anyway, opinions are extremely welcome! I have had this ruby point/broken capillaries right on the tip of my nose for a while now. They're bad anywhere but I look like Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer and it is NOT funny. I have decided that I definitely want to get rid of my ruby point. The question is HOW? I'm looking for replies from people who have experience with this and can share how well their treatment worked. Laser is the only thing I've really heard about.
Thanks.

As someone with rosacea, I know a thing or two about this.
First off, make sure to wash your face with lukewarm water and never warm water, as this can make matters worse. That includes showers, by the way. Also stay out of the sun as much as you can, and refrain from using alcohol.
Treating broken capillaries is a difficult affair. Yes, laser treatment is the best option you have available. This destroys the capillaries, after which they are absorbed into the body and your appearance should improve very quickly. Always choose the most reputable plastic surgery clinic you have access to, do not save on the cost because the outcome may depend on it. You want the most experienced surgeon (with excellent reviews) you can find.
In the meantime, do you need any makeup tips or are you good?

I have heard that there are people for whom even laser treatment does next to nothing, so that has me concerned and wondering exactly what type of laser I should look for. I need someone who knows how to deal with this, rather than general aging and acne and things.

- Acne can make broken capillaries worse. Treat acne if you have it.
- Use a sunscreen faithfully.
- If you've been overwashing your skin, this can result in some cases. Twice a day and even once a day is really more than enough for your face.
- Aloe vera can soothe your skin.
- Horse chestnut seed extract is another remedy that some people have luck with.
- Comfrey oil is yet another option.
Investigating the natural remedies is not a bad thing in this case.

I'm right there with you, I mean right there - except that I also did laser it a few times and the stupid thing is still there. At this point I'm not sure what to do. It's really something that is always there with me. It's something that makes me feel very bad about myself. I know you're probably looking for more positive replies but that's where I'm at and I felt I needed to share and perhaps get some tips on what to possibly do next as well! Yes, makeup's a life saver but I want to look good naturally as well and not always feel like I am trying to hide my real ugly self. :(
