hi every1,
for you night runners out there, i am curious how many actually greet (say hi or whatever) other runners, completely ignore them, or what? (eg. like when running on a bike path)
When I ran in the dark (in the morning), I NEVER saw another runner. I did have a couple of people that I'd wave to as the came out to get their morning paper though.

PS - Welcome to the forums.

What few I've come across I ignore. A nod at the most.

As a woman I am very aware of them, I look at them make sure they see me notice them but I usually don't say anything.

Oh, and welcome!!! :wavey:

I akways say Hi to anybody I come across.....dog walkers, runners whatever. Maybe I just live in a friendlier city or something.

I like to say "Hi" or give a smile/nod to people that I come across while on my run on bike ride. If it was really late at night I'd probably be less inclined to say anything. :wavey:

I always say hello... it's a small town thing maybe.

I changed my mind about being friendly. I had quite a scare on my trail run the other night and it hadn't been dark for long. Thank goodness I had my two dogs with me. :eek2:

Hey 1st-timer,
are u finding that some people interpret "friendliness" in weird ways by any chance??? also what was your big scare??

Depends where you are I think. I'm originally from Ann Arbor, MI and everyone there always says hi or nods when they pass someone running or even just walking by them on the sidewalk. Midwestern hopitality maybe! Having lived on the east coast for so long now I hardly ever acknowledge another person when they pass me - when I go home to MI now and someone does it makes me jump, haha! :)
