Well I have reached the age of being a teen girl where I have to get this huge needle in my arm, and an older friend pinched me saying this is what it felt like: It really hurt! I am terrified of getting it and when I saw the people get it last year, they were sitting round upset and then I read the panflit and the side effects freaked me out even more, and some people are trying to freak me out and I am really worried about it and all ! Please help me I am petrafied!
The reason people have such an issue with needles is because of the thoughts they have related to needles. We get ourselves all worked up with how horrible and painful it is going to be. The reality of a needle is typically nothing close to what we make it out to be in our minds. I recommend you relax about the whole idea and understand two things. The first thing is that it is going to sting a little bit, but it is small and will only last for a moment. There will be times in life that you are going to have no choice but to buckle in bear the load coming at you. Needles will be some of the easiest things in life that you will have to face and confront, and these are the moments that allow us to practice being courageous. Courage isn't about being without fear, but instead is about being able to face thing's head on even when we are completely terrified. I am not certain what the needle is for, but we rarely have needles put into our body for random excitement and something fun to keep us occupied. There is a reality that not getting a certain needle has consequences that are far worse. Take polio for example. I for one am grateful they created a vaccine that has practically eliminated the disease. This means you do have the option of not taking the needle, and possibly dealing with the disease or illness the shot is designed to fight against.
