Hi,
Ive had a small lump on the underside of the shaft of my penis for as long as I can remember. im now 21 and fed up!
what a lot of you seem to be describing has a place on your skin that you can pop it out of or something, like a spot.
but mine is like having a small stone completely under the skin. its pretty solid from what i can tell, doesnt hurt or anything,
its just embarrassing! having to make up some excuse to girls if they see it.
are all of the examples you've been talking about completely under the skin? with no visible hole where it could come out of?

I have had this happen to me twice now. It is NOT an STD - the first time happened to me when I was a kid before I was sexually active. The second happened 17 years later when I was an adult.
In both cases the cysts had to be removed surgically. They were not infected, so they did not have any pus, but if skewered with a straight pin they would leak a clear fluiid that was mixed with blood (I assume from puncturing the skin). Eventually I gave up on draining them. They just kept coming back over and over and as an adult I didn't want them to be mistaken for something they were not.

Hi Guys,
I have had this same issue on and off since I was 15 and I recently just had enough of it when another appeared.
I am not a doctor and so this is very much a layman approach, but I just couldn’t bring myself to see a doctor, much less for minor surgery:
1) First I obtained Salactol paint online
2) Then I carefully painted the area over the cyst with this and put a plaster on.
3) I continued this for a couple of days until the skin over the cyst had ‘melted’ away exposing the cyst itself
4) I then took sterile tweezers and pulled away as much cyst as would come away with ease and continued to paint the cyst with Salactol
5) After a couple of days all of the cyst was easily removable and I then painted the cyst wall Salactol
6) I observed it for a couple of days and when no cyst matter returned I left the area to heal naturally with a clean coverings 3 times a day
7) There has been no scarring and, touch wood, the cyst has gone
Hope this helps guys, but please do bear in mind that I am not medically trained and this was purely my own approach.

The Salactol instructions clearly state the following:
"This medicine is not suitable for use on the face, or for warts affecting anal or genital areas."

The only safe option is to simply go to your general practitioner / family doctor (no need for a specialist) and request that it be diagnosed, and if it in fact is a sebaceous gland cyst, or even a wart, the doctor can freeze / burn it with liquid nitrogen. This takes a couple minutes, and you're not risking your health by doing all of these idiotic steps outlined above.
I've had a cyst on the underside of my penis since February 2010, I went to the primary care Dr. She told me to wrap it in a warm wash cloth, I tried that for a month, then "puss" came out", it was still there. She sent me to a dermatologist, She said that they could take it out but because of the area, I should see a plastic surgeon. He said that the cyst will rise and shrink if left untreated, and that since I've had it this long it should be removed. I'm going to schedule the procedure and will let you know of the results.
Two things:
1. Do not put off getting it removed. In my experience I've found that these sebaceous cysts don't tend to go away on their own.
2. Don't attempt to remove it yourself, odds are you'll do it wrong. The only home treatment I would suggest is applying a sterile heating pad or warm, damp cloth directly to the cyst for about 15 minutes three times a day.
I had two midway up the shaft of my penis. They originally looked like pimples but eventually grew to the size of peas. I went to my family physician, but he couldn't remove them so he referred me to a urologist. The urologist removed the cyst with a scalpel then cauterized the wound. The longest part of the whole ordeal was waiting for him to enter the room. He told me to apply neosporin to the wound, and cover it with a fresh sterile pad three times a day. Luckily, the skin healed without infection and is now smooth again.
It's definitely embarrassing, but it's more common than you think and not a big deal. SO GO DO IT.

Ive had two cysts on the shaft of my penis before. It sucked, when it was there i could not have sex due to the tenderness of it. my girlfriend got frustrated and popped it after about a week and a bit after it had formed, LMAO, puss and a small amount of blood shot up on the wall it was a freakin mess. The second one came back in the same spot (probably the same one). So she popped it again. After it looked like an elevation os skin with a small indent at the top where she put the needle. It has been a year since this had happened and i am free of the nasty little thing :-)
I have had one cyst on the top of my penis which was rather small in the beginning. When I started to get annoyed by it being there i decided to start messing around with it and it got swollen so I left it alone. it recently just went away but now I've spotted another cyst on the right side of my penis and now I'm beginning to get a little bit worried. Any advice? Thanks.
I had the same thing when I was 12. Multiple of them on the shaft and scrotum. At that age it was frightening so i just used a thumb tack in the shower and popped them all. To break the skin was painful but after I popped them all I have never had a problem since and I am 29 now. Maybe in the shower was a good sterile environment to do my own at home personal procedure. I was just researching to make sure it wasn't serious and I came across this post and thought I might be able to encourage and help. So in the end don't be worried, if taken care of properly (which I guess the shower counts) you will be safe.
Just so everyone knows, Sebaceous Cysts on the penis can be caused by an increase in testosterone production. So, in other words, you guys are either working out very often or masturbating very frequently. If it's the former, you guys get what you had coming.
well, I'm glad I saw this thread because I was worried. I had a few of these, currently 2 small ones now that are getting smaller every week. I removed the old ones with some sterilized tweezers, once I got it out of the bump it seemed like a very little white hard stone that was really hard to remove but once I did and it healed after a week or two and they were gone.
If it becomes an issue I will go see a doctor, but as for now I seem to be able to take care of it myself.

I have had two cysts on my wiener since I was little Kid and I always thought it had something to do with my circumcision not healing properly. My doctor sAid having it removed would just make the area very sensitive. I think they look ugly of course and today I may take a razor and peroxide to cut them out cause I am sick of squeezing them. Let u know in a week my results. Ugly penis.
I also found to have a subaceous cys on my penis and I believe that I have found a simple way to cure it. Having a bath. The heat from the bath liquifies the pus and makes it easier to squeeze out. Then, if you squeeze a little harder, the main problem comes out. The ingrowing hair follicle. Once this comes out, the size aof the cyst gets alot smaller and goes in a few days. Now, this worked for me but I am not guaranteeing that it will work for everyone but it did for me and I thought that I should send in a cure as I was quite scared at first when I first saw the cyst on my penis. Hopefully, this will work for others with the same problem but if not, I would see a doctor as I seriously contemplated this idea. After all, they are paid to keep you healthy.
Hope that this comment will help other people with the same problem that I had
