Did you ever get any relief from this?

My 16 yr old son has had pain on the tip of his penis for the last 5 months.  We've gone to two urologists who despite a cystology and an MRI, could find nothing wrong, though the MRI did note a slight abnormality a the disc of his spine.  We've seen a pain specialist who wants him to try taking Neurontin.  I'm going to make him wait on that until I learn more about what is possibly causing this.   Thank you to all who have posted. Go see doctors and maybe doctors will start to become more aware of these issues.

I don't think anything is wrong with your penis. It sounds normal to me. The head is supposed to be sensitive. The foreskin is put there to protect the head and keep it sensitive.

There is no reason for you to touch the head so just don't touch it. Pull your foreskin forward to cover the head to protect it and you should be fine.

Circumcision usually turns out to be mistake.

Phimosis may be treated without surgery by manual stretching.

It is not necessary to have a foreskin that will retract. Some men live their entire lives with a non-retractable foreskin. They can masturbate, have penetrative sex, get married, and father children with a foreskin that does not retract. Some believe that a penis with a non-retractile foreskin has more sensation and that sex is better. However there is no scientific evidence one-way or the other.

It depends on just how tight your foreskin is. If it is really narrow and absolutely won't retract, then you can have penetrative sex without pain. On the other hand, if it just a little bit tight, then it is likely to be forced back during sex and that will hurt because it is tight.

Almost all boys are born with a foreskin that does not retract. This is normal. It takes years for the ability to retract to develop. About ½ of boys have a retractable foreskin by 10.4 years of age. Many adolescents still have foreskins that have tips that are too narrow to pass back over the penis head. These foreskins may be gently stretched over a period of time to cause them to widen.

It is normal for teens to have a foreskin that does not retract. One’s foreskin is still developing. One can help it develop by stretching it.

When your penis is erect, gently pull your foreskin back against the head of the penis. As the head attempts to pass through the foreskin it will stretch the skin a little. Do this every day and in a few weeks or months your foreskin will widen and you will be able to retract your foreskin. Do NOT force retraction. Do NOT cause yourself pain.

It works by tissue expansion. Stretching skin induces “mitosis” which is a word that means “division of cells”. New skin cells are formed and the skin expands but it takes some time. The increase in size is permanent. Be patient and give mitosis time to work.

The important thing is to put the skin under tension every day so that it will grow wider.

It is totally normal for the penis head to be sensitive when it has been covered with a foreskin.

Hi Soul Walker:

The poor guys who are circumcised have no choice about keeping their head exposed.

It is true than some guys keep their foreskins back all of the time. They probably lose sensation in their head. The foreskin is protective. Nature's intent is that the foreskin stay forward over the head to protect the glans penis.

Some men like to wear their foreskins permanently retracted. They seem to do
okay with it.

Other men, especially those with longer foreskins, are simply unable to keep their foreskins retracted. Their foreskins roll/slide forward when released and recover the glans penis.

The danger is that paraphimosis may develop. Paraphimosis is the name of the condition of a retracted foreskin that is stuck behind the glans penis (head) of the penis and will not go forward. One can read about paraphimosis on the Internet.

If the foreskin is tight enough it can cut off blood circulation to the head and cause edema (swelling due to fluid accumulation). Paraphimosis should be promptly reduced when it occurs. Paraphimosis may be reduced by squeezing the head of the penis really hard to force the blood to leave the head. This will temporarily reduce the size of the head at which time the foreskin may be brought forward.

If attempts to reduce the paraphimosis are unsuccessful, then one should go to the emergency room of a nearby hospital. It is not necessary or advisable to be circumcised although some old-fashioned doctors are likely to recommend it.

If you don't get paraphimosis then you should do OK. You may expect to lose some sensation as the head becomes keratinized from permanent exposure.

High sensation is a normal condition. Doctors cannot cure a normal condition.

Doctors used to believe that most everyone had a retractable foreskin by age five, but that was wrong. Many boys still have non-retractable foreskin in their teen years and for a few the foreskin never becomes retractable.

The foreskin protects the head and keeps it moist and sensitive.

It is normal to have a foreskin that does not retract when erect if you are still in your teens. You can stretch it to make it retract.
