Im 28,no children, and I just noticed in the last few months that the rest of my body doesnt have to feel cold at the same time but sometimes my left nipple feels like its freezing, it gets hard as a rock and is very painful. I looked up the hypeactatemia which led me to lactic acidosis and with my other health problems this seems like a good fit. I had a kidney transplant a year ago and im supposed to be taking sodium bicarbonate pills bc of acidic blood levels. The article i read about lactic acidosis said that lactic acid has alot to do with kidneys and if u have kidneys that cant get rid of the excess lactic acid then ur blood will become acidic and that this condition could become fatal depending on whats causing it. So im definitely going to start taking the pills i should be. But the dr told me they are basically just baking soda thats what dr. S used to prescribe before the pill came along. So anyone who os having trouble with this i suggest looking up lactic acidosis (i read the healthline webpage) and if u don't have kidney problems or other major medical issues then try putting a couple tablespoons of baking soda in some water and take that for a few days and see if it helps. It also said exercising could cause the symptoms and to take lots of breaks and drink plenty of water while exercising

Almost sounds like Reynauds. Usually more common in the hands though. have you noticed any blanching or redness in your hands also?

My doctor looks at me as if I’m crazy too. The pain is horrific and actually makes me want to be sick. I’ve heard it’s called Raynaud’s phenomenon which happens in the nipples instead of the hands due to Vasospasm. I have fibromyalgia and live with pain but this is the worst pain ever

im 18 and i live in north australia where it is boiling hot and sometimes my nipples get so hard its unbearable, which makes no sense because its not cold here at all!!! when they do hurt i hold them and rub them to make them warm and losen them (which is so awkward in public), it sometimes works but i usually wait till it goes away. it happens around 2-3 times a week and i hate it. i hope this isnt going to happen until im 30 like you girls... but im gla i know theres something to cure it. if it gets really bad ill see a doctor about it and maybe get some treatment.

Nipple vasospasm. Vasospasm occurs when blood vessels constrict (or tighten). It can be very painful and is usually worse when you are cold.

Hi!
I'm 26, I have no kids. I have never been pregnant.
I suffer from sharp cold pains and colour changes in my nipples too. They go so white and the sharp pains are horrible.
I wear alot of layers any way but it doesnt help. I cant prevent it but i can stop it once is starts with either a warm shower or heatpacks like wheatbags.

Thank you! I'm going to try this. I'm 49, one child and did not breastfeed and have had this severe nipple pain when cold for many, many, years. I told my doctor and she just said some people have sensitive nipples. Great! Thanks so much for the tips

I am 18 and have not had children yet either. As soon as the weather starts to even get a LITTLE bit cold my nipples do the same thing. My boobs don't hurt but they are covered in goosebumps! The nipple starts to feel so hard im afraid they are gonna pop off or something. They go from the darkish pinkish color to a blue like hue and the tip of the nipples are white. Simply trying to warm them up does not help. Also side note: im a 32-34 B cup, im 108 pounds, and 5'2". They did this when i was 17 as well. But even after i warm up the rest of my body, my nipples still hurt for a good while. My foster mom is a little taller than I am and is a lot heavier than I am, a lot. She could snap me in half lol. Any how she is in her late thirties never had birth kids never breast fed and is a DD something and she never complains about her nipples being cold/sore/hard due to temperature. So im really not sure. Thanks tho guys!

I have this and it’s TERRIBLY painful sometimes hurts for hours! Esp in the winter. I have cold hands and feet often and my grandfather, mother, aunt and cousin all are diagnosed with Raynauds so I assume I have it. It is EXTREMELY painful. Sometimes a hot shower helps but when I get out and get cold again, it returns. May nights I wake up in the middle of the night in extreme burning type pain.
