YOUR STORY SOUNDS JUST LIKE MINE. IT HAS BEEN 16 MONTHS SINCE MY PAIN STARTED IN MY RIGHT UPR ABDOMEN ITS CONSTANTLY PERSISTANT & IM AFRAID ITS GOING TO KILL ME. IVE HAD A SPHYNCTEROTOMY OF MY PANCREAS DUCT & I AM STILL IN PAIN. DR PUT ME OFF UNTIL FIRST OF THE YEAR & TOLD ME TO WATCH MY DIET TO SEE IF THAT HELPS.

I cannot believe what I am reading! I too have right upper quadrant pain that is constant and nobody can figure out what is going on! Mine feels almost as if there is a foot in my rib from a baby! It started about a month ago and is giving me the worst anxiety! Mine radiates to my back and side at times. I do not have an appendix. I went to a GI doc and had a colonoscopy but everything was normal minus a few polyps. I also had an ultrasound and they said liver, kidney, pancreas and gallbladder look fine. They also did a vaginal ultrasound and everything was normal. Extensive blood work showed nothing. The GI doc thinks I have IBS but this seems off considering my pain is one sided. I have had some constipation but fixed this easily with more fiber in my diet. Doc wants me to have an endoscopy which I will probably do in the next few weeks. I'm sick of dealing with this!

wow I too have the same hernia and gastric problems with severe pain in my right upper quadrant, it starts just under my right breast and radiates to my back and right side occasionally I also feel pain next to my spine, If I lay on my right side while asleep I wake up barely able to move and it seems to catch and takes my breath away I've had the pain off and on for years but only consistently the last 2 months, like you guys my test results all came back clear...I've also had a lot of bloating I'll keep checking back to see if anyone actually gets any relief from anything because this pain is frightening

After numerous tests, colonscopies endoscopies gastroscropies etc, I was initially told the pain was in my head, it took me a few years to go back and see a different doctor who then proceeded to advise me to go to weightwatchers!!!!!!!!!!!! A three page letter of complaint went in to which to date I have received no response. A further consultation with my G.P. after becoming upset at the latest response, he suggested Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. He then prescribed Probanthine/or Buscopan. This has offered a great deal of relief over the last few months and also settles bloating. My G.P. has also mentioned Botax injections into the sphincter but have not tried it so cannot comment. worth giving this medication a try, only trouble with Probanthine is it does dry up the secretions and particularly the overnight dose leaves you with a dry furred up tongue next morning, there is a spray available though if you do give it a try

I have another consult in 2 days with my GP as the pain has become unbearable thanks for the suggestions, if all else fails I will mention them to her and will keep you posted

well my consult has resulted in more blood tests and an appt for a mammography...why I don't know as I am not displaying any signs of a problem with my breasts...I seriously believe she is just grasping at straws and has no idea what she's doing! the pain is as intense as it was 2 months ago intermittently around the clock and for the past week I also have the same type of pain at waist level on the right side, I'm exhausted an hour after getting up, I can go back to bed and sleep instantly for hours get up again and feel the same an hour later...this is not what I am used to, it's frightening I just wish she would find the cause of it all

you can buy Buscopan over the counter buy it yourself and give it a go, wont do any harm it is a relaxant, give it a week and see if there is any difference, mine is alot better, not gone but more manageable, I also take Lansoprozole and ppi (proton pump inhibitor tablet) which reduces acid reflux which we can get even when not aware of the acidy feeling. All worth a try, simple measures out the way, but don't give up, last doc I saw at the hospital could find no reason so said it was down to my weight, they have no idea whatsoever dont give up and don't be frightened to come up with some suggestions to challenge them with yourself

Ok at least I am not crazy. I was beginig to think I was. I have had this URQ pain for about 4 months now just is getting worse. Every test shows nothing Dr. said there is 15 thing she can say its not but doesn't know what it is. Thinks it is musculer I don't know. She did suggest a chropator I think I might try it. I know I can't stand this pain, I also have back trouble and this is a differnt kind of pain for sure. I know really can't do anything with out horriable pain. Any help would be greatly apreciatead . I will do the same.

OMG.. I am afraid to go to dr because of same syptoms, I am afraid of liver diagnosis. I did read gallbladder symptoms, I have them except no nausea or loss of appetite. I have had a few times of bloody stool, I have had before occasionally and attributed to internal hem. Pain is upper right, moves to right back .

Add me to the list- severe abdominal pain for one year, 3 cat scats . 2 MRI's, two endoscopies, one colonectomy, one capsue test- where you swallow the capsule and they track through your small bowel. That is where they found the lesions-these, along with the anemia, fatique, diarhea, fevers, many other symptoms led them to Crohn's Disease.

Are any of the people who responded to this topic, diabetic? I just finished two months of doctor's appointments, and testing. plenty of discussions of NOT what it is, but nothing about what is causing this pain. I am a type 2 diabetic, and my doctor was wondering if any of the people who wrote on this subject were diabectic. I hope someone at last has a diagnosis soon.

I am also going through the same thing.  Its been 4 years for me. As time goes on its getting worse. I have sharp pains under my right rib, pain that shoots up to my right shoulder (worse with deep breaths). Pain used to come and go every few months but now is a few times a week. Its horrible! I have had my gallbladder taken out but didn't help. My gallbladder had sludge but no stones. They found bile duct dialation but didn't think much on it. Mrcp showed possible mass in my pancreatic duct but endoscopic ultrasound showed nothing in the duct. It did show that my pancreas was a little inflammed and some minor abnormalities of the pancreas tho. I had a hida scan that was normal. Normal endoscopy and colonoscopy. All of my blood tests were normal. They did an ercp as last attempt I was told by my primary. Ercp showed no stones. They put a stent in both my pancreatic and common bile duct and did a sphincterotomy. I got post ercp pancreatitis, but once that went away was feeling better. They took out my pancreatic stent. Now I have pain again. I'm not sure if stents have anything to do with them or not. They did say I could be passing small stones that were undetected. Idk. Alls I know is idk where to go from here. Internet research shows a lot of people going through this but not one has ever said it was resolved. I'm starting to worry that this is life for me. Being 30 and a mom of 2 its rough. Docs don't give pain meds easily (I really don't like the idea of taking them anyway). I will push as far as I can to find the reason. And made myself a promise once its resolved I will put my story up online in hopes to help others with this issue.

I have had some abnormal blood sugars, however not diabetic at this point. I worry about that because after feeling pancreatitis I realized I had similar pain over the years which may explain the pancreas enlargement and abnormalities.

I have all the same symptoms. I'm not alone. Frustrated beyond belief. I have had every test known (EUS, ERCP, MRCP, EGD, genetic testing) . Only thing show was a mutation in the CF gene. That was done at Cleveland Clinic. The Dr s out here where I live blow that off. I have changed GI Dr couple times (one due to change of insurance) but still cannot get any answers
