I have the same thing and I had a minor flair up this morning. I had just had a deep tissue massage yesterday and associated it with the soreness I felt in my lower back so I did a stretch like this: from a standing position, cross one leg over the other so the ankle is resting on the thigh right above the knee. Squat slightly and bend over from the waist to feel a stretch in the lower back and outer thigh, buttocks. My flair up went away. I do believe it is sciatica. Sciatica is soooo painful and can make pain radiate all over. All of you will this pain, go to your chiro and get stretched and adjusted. It will go away in time.
I have recently found myself with the same symptoms. Try antacid meds like tums etc.. take them for about 3 days if that doesnt work i would suggest going to your docter and asking him about stomach bleeding on the lining of your stomach. Usually caused by heavily acidic foods.
I had this pain, as well as slight back pain also..
It had happened ever since I gave birth to my daughter 3 years ago.. Just recently I had surgery to fix the 2 umbilical hernias that were causing this pain.
When fat tissue pushes through the hole (hernia), it causes pain and can often push against a nerve that goes down to the genital area, up toward the sternum or it can push on a nerve that reacts to the siatic nerve in your back.
I suggest asking for an ultrasound, as umbilical hernias are common and can be quite painful, as well as dangerous if left untreated and left to grow larger.
Appendix is on the right side and can be quite serious if it is inflamed...it could even burst which may be very dangerous...Please check with a Dr. to be sure :)
I started today with same pain, burning left 2 inches and up 2 inches of my belly button. After reading 10 pages of the same symptoms, I have noted several having mentioned umbilical hernia. I had mine repaired 6 months ago and mesh was not needed. Feels somewhat bruised and pretty superficial- close to the surface. Wheres a good doctor when you need one? Sure hope this doesnt last years like some have stated.
I used to get this pain at her age ,eventually ,after numerous tests ,(they at first assumed mine were stress related..ie..imagined pains!:(
I then saw a locum ,a sweet elderly dr ,standing in for my own..after a thorough examination of my tummy and abdomen ,and going thru all my test results etc ,he told my parents i had ABDOMINAL MIGRAINE.
We`d never heard of it ,but he said he`d been diagnosed with it himself during his teens...
Mine lasted until i met my (late) husband at 19 ,and i have to admit ,was alot worse when i was under stress..
I do hope u find a solution for your daughter ,now older and with children of my own ,i know what a worry it can be ,when you can`t always "fix" their aches and pains.....x
To everyone else ,good luck...and better health x

There is a nerve connected on the inside of the belly button and if it moves out of place it can cause severe pain(usually on the left side), I've had the same problem and the best remedy is an Indian method by which they use their hands to find the pulse and move it back into place..this will also solve constipation and other related problems
I am 45 years old man, and I have this pain for 22 years now. None of the doctors I saw in 22 years was able to figure it out. It bothered me a lot in the first few yers, but I learned to live with it now. The pain has never increased over the years, but it never went away for a long time.
I'm as well a female. The doctors said I possibly have IBS. I've had a cat scan, an x-ray, and 2 blood tests done and they still don't know. The pain is mostly literally right above my belly button and I don't have my belly button pierced either. But a rather strange thing had happened this morning when I had severe stabbing pains on my left side right lined up with my belly button. The doctors said I should see a gastologist soon but they never scheduled one! I've battled these pains for my whole life (I'm 13) and it goes off and one but this last 2 months have moved from years apart to every day and it gets worst every time. I can handle pain and this is like no other pain I've EVER had. I just wish I would go away!
I have the same thing for years i took a marker and would mark the spots were the pain was ,the dr thought i was nuts did every test known to man i was told it was galbladder to you name it and the whole time was a hernia. It only took about 3 years and it was me reading to realize it was a hernia ,and i told my dr send me to a Hernia specialist, ...so get a ctscan with dye or get a normal scan done ,wellla fixed ,idk sometimes i think drs dont really have a clue at times. the reason i had pain in all diff places because my tummy was herniated.I could have died if it wasnt fixed because it was ready to blow out ,its cause from your tissue deteriorating inside. ASK ABOUT HERNIA

You are absolutely right. I had horrible stomach pains which would go to my back and had me bent over to relieve the pain. My sister suggested that I might be lactose intolerant, and sure enough, when I stopped the regular milk, the pain went away. Now I only drink Silk milk and take :Lactaid if I have any food items that contain even a hint of milk.
I have the same problem. I had a Laparoscopic to remove a stomach mass Dec 2011. I just found out I have gastroparesis also. The pain I have is left side lower stomach about 2 inches from belly button. Im worried its something serious mtself and dont know what it can be
I had something like this few years ago. They did all possible tests and got nothing until one day I got rally sharp pain very low (almost at the bottom where the led starts) went to emergency, they did catsscan and found kidney stone 3mm small. They can be very painful and the pain can be felt in different parts of the area, back front low high. The kidney stones are not smooth so it hurts when they move. There are no organs on the left except intestines and kidney so I would guess it would be one or the other.
I have been having this pain for about 5 days. Left side, of belly button about two to three inches, a line of pain occurs only when i sit, lay on my tummy, or bend over. No rash, bruse, redness, swelling, dry skin or anything its a problem on my inside and it does not feel too good. its weird, I use the restroom normally no diahriah or anything.
I'm a 15 year old female and I've been experiencing this pain on both sides of my bellybutton since fifth grade (5years) I haven't done anything about it because the pain hasn't been that strong but now I've been missing my period for I think three months now and I'm worried. But I don't want to spend money on all of these tests if I'm not going to get any answers.
