Hello, folks. I have recently been diagnosed with amblyopia. I know that this condition is also known as lazy eye syndrome. My ophthalmologist recommends me surgery, but I am not sure whether I really need it. Can anyone tell me this? I would appreciate all your replies. Thank you in advance.
Hi, there. Perhaps your ophthalmologist thinks that you need surgery. Usually, the first steps are non-surgical treatments. Glasses are commonly given for making focusing or misalignment better. If non-surgical measures do not give any results, then one should try with surgery. This procedure strengthens the eye muscles. You should discuss about the details with your ophthalmologist. I hope everything will be all right. Good luck! Bye!
