Since having the dilaudid put into my pump, I have been having severe muscle problems where I wind up falling on my face. I fall standing, sitting, etc. I also have problems urinating, migraines, and severe swelling in my legs. I just want to find the side effects of this medication that is put into my pump.
I've had Dilaudid in my pump for a while now and I have different side effects too. Swelling in the legs is common. Problems with urinating is unusual though. What else is in your pump? I have Dilaudid and Prialt and the combination of the two causes side effects but Dilaudid alone is pretty safe, usually. One thing I would check into would be the amount your getting daily. Falling could be a sign of too much med daily.
I had trouble falling and at that time I had morphine and marcaine in my pump. The numbing medicine, (marcaine) was causing my my muscles to be weak and my legs numb causing me to fall. They recently switched me to Dilaudid and took the morphine and marcaine out of my pump. My legs are feeling better and I haven't fallen since.
When u said you had numbness was it like having novacane injected in leg ?
I currently have a pain pump with only morphine in it. It doesn't work very well for me, and at my next refill the Dr. is going to add marcaine. I already have some muscle weakness with the morphine, but have never fallen. I guess my question is, did the combination of morphine/marcaine alleviate your pain? I would be willing to risk falling to get rid of my pain. Obviously I would need to take extra precautions if my legs become too weak to support me. Thanks,. Scott
