Can anyone help diagnose what's wrong with me? I've had severe vaginal pain on intercourse for 7 years now, which was diagnosed as vulvodynia. Then a year ago all the skin peeled off my clitoris, leaving it like a raw, open wound. It's so agonizingly painful that I cannot have any kind of sexual contact, work, sleep or even get dressed. I have not been able to leave the house in 4 months now, except to attend doctor's appointments. I have lost my job and my boyfriend has left me, both as a direct result of this condition. I've seen doctor after doctor but none of them seem to have any idea what's wrong - I've been tested for STDs twice (all negative) and tried antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and various allergy/steroid creams, none of which had any effect. They have refused to do a biopsy or just remove my clitoris altogether and I feel like I just can't live like this any more. I'm missing out on everything that makes life worth living. If I can never have a relationship, children, a job, go out with friends, etc., what's the point of being alive? I can't stand the thought of spending the next 50 or 60 years housebound, alone and in terrible pain every minute of every hour of every day. Please help.
Sounds like your team of doctors are disregarding you. I've been going through the same thing for 2 years now. I think I have VIN or vulvar cancer, but the doctors refuse to biopsy my clitoris. Meanwhile, things are getting worse.

I feel for you. How old are you? Do you think it is possible you have VIN or vulvar cancer.

Also, what is there reasoning for not removing your clitoris?

lookup vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia or VIN or vulvar cancer.

Advice rooted in personal experience: never see a doctor who hasn't treated/confronted/cured the condtion you think you may have. If a doctor has never performed a surgery required to fix you up, he will tell you that it is everything else besides that one condition that would require that surgery.

Best of luck.

Have you tried looking at your diet? I found that many of my intolerances were causing painful sex and a very raw vaginal area. I think it stems from hormone issues and your diet can play a huge part in this. Once I cleaned up my diet, I didn’t have as many issues in this area. The whole 30 diet is especially useful. I hope this helps!
