I am a 23 yr old male and a few months ago i found a small hard lump on the outer side of my left testicle. it is defiently protruding from the actual teste, and not anything else. It does not hurt, and has not gotten any bigger since. it is very small, maybe a quarter the size of a pea, and is very hard, not tender at all. i was wondering what this most sounds like, whether cancer, or any other type of condition?

Hello I had similar problem, actually I had one lump on testicles and I also was also concerned about my problem. I thought also that it could be cancer or some sexually transmitted disease, so even though I did not want i decided to visit a dermatologist, who told me that my issue is not dangerous, and give me some therapy which really neutralize my lump. If we talk about your case I hope it is not dangerous because it could be some cysts, or something similar, but my advice is to you is going to doctor who can recommend you some treatment
Maybe you should see a doctor. Seems like not of concern, but it is better to be sure

I am 72 years old and my Right testicle has swelled up and I recently found a 3/8 lump on right side. The lump is very tender and it is very painful. I have unbearable pain in my groin and scrotum. The pain continues to be felt going up and around my back (near my kidney). It continues to hurt with an aching pain that runs down my right leg just below my knee.
I sometimes have problems Urinating and it can also be very painful to pee.
I had this same problem 5 years ago. My urologist had me take 1 Flomax pill each day and it did not help. He then prescribed a bright purple pill that also did not help. I finally was put in the hospital and was feed me medicine by IV. After 4 days in the hospital the swelling went down and everything was normal again. The doctor told me to take Prosar and – Decreases the size of the prostate) Takes a Flomax – Helps your pee flow
For the last 5 years I have been taking 1 Proscar pill and 1 Flomax pill day. I have had a hard time peeing.
Recently I have been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The doctor said they caught it early and treated me with 28 Radiations Treatment and then followed up with 2 Needle implant treatments where they inserted 18 needles below my scrotum and they pumped radiation through it. I just finished up with the needle treatments and that was when my swelling began.
My doctor wanted me to wait to see if the swelling would go down and told me to wait a week. The swelling did not go down and I asked him to put me in the hospital to feed medicine by IV. I was hoping this would help. The IV has been feeding me medicine the past 5 days and that has not helped. The pain is unbearable and I am ready to loose a Testicle if needed.
Please help provide some alternative solutions or advise so I maybe able to discuss this with my doctor. We are both at a loss and do not what to do next.

Concerned Guy, you have done the correct first step, by examining your testicle with a self check. 8) You have found something out of the ordinary, and it must be checked out by a doctor. Start with your family doctor, or your local health clinic. Don't be shy. You want to get an answer to this... that's why you wrote in. As you can see by the comment from PLEASEHELPME, you want to catch things early.
The hard lump you have found may not prove to be anything serious, but it must be checked out to know for sure. This is not something that you want to put off. :-(
Second, Pleasehelpme is asking for alternative treatments for a complicated situation. He has already undergone treatment by several doctors, and he is describing additional pain and surgical options. This is beyond my ability to advise over a discussion board.
I am not versed in alternative treatments. :$
I would urge him to talk with his doctor frankly, and ask for a referral to someone versed in alternative therapy. He may find his doctor is open minded, and he may find that there is something additional that his doctor can do for him.
Either way, you want a qualified person to address your concern.
Perhaps someone will write an answer directly addressing your request.
If you created a separate entry, with a unique title, you'll have a better chance of someone seeing your question.

Hello, I Too Just Recently Discovered A Small Hard Pertruding Lump On My Left Testical Right In The Area At The End Where Eveything Seems To Be Connected On The Underside....It Does Not Hurt But If I Rub It Or Touch To See If Its Still There, Thier Is A Slight Discomfort As If You Were To Sqeeze Your Testicals To Hard Or If Kicked/Punched In That Area, Not As Extreme Of Pain But A Slight Sensation Of The Sort It Is Not Umberible Just A Discomfort....And I Can Feel The Same Feeling Slightly Now Even When Not Messed With Although It The Lump Has Not Increased In Size. Any Suggestions Or Past Expieriences Would Be Greatly Appretiated!! %-)
I found a couple years ago a small protruding hard thing on my left testicle, no discomfort or anything, but i havent gone to the doctor for it and it hasnt changed a bit, i found one in my crotch area too, same exact thing.. what the heck are these things? no insurance of course... thanks

This description is literally the exact same thing that I have. The uncomfortable pain when messing with it or if it get's agitated. Small hard lump size of a BB only on the outer side of the left testicle where the Linkage meets up. I am starting to feel it now just walking around. Clearly the best option is to go to the doc but I'd like to get an idea of what I'm working with here. Rather than go in and them have a field day charging me for tests that i don't need.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any web sites that i can go to that Actually give answers instead of saying to go see a doctor? There has to be a name for this issue.

Yes, this is exactly why I'm on the medical forum. Have either of you gotten an answer? Mine is on the right testicle, but otherwise exactly the same. It seems to be accompanied by a slightly larger but softer mass as well. I, too, am without insurance. I had a mole tested last year and ended up with over 400$ in fees, took my own stitches out because the doc is just too expensive!

if its a small hard lump the chances are it is testicular cancer. though thankfully it has a 95% cure rate by simply removing the testicle. if is larger and begins to cause swelling to your lymph nodes this is S3 and is also curable. you need to see a doctor to refer you to a hospital for an ultrasound scan. it is unlikely to be a testicular cyst as a normal GP can rule this out. if you require an ultrasound you should be preapred to be 'flying on one engine'.
dont worry too much. its not very fatal UNLESS you let it fester and spread to other areas, so you must visit you GP within the next 5-7 days max.

Im 14 and i've had a small hard bump on my testicle that's about the quarter size of a pea for 2 or 3 years and I never got it checked out. It only hurts if I aplly pressure to it. Should I still be concerned even though ive had it for so long? Im really concerned that I might have cancer or something!

im 16 and just posed about the same thing, i have the same problem and i know what its like, its not easy to tell your mother about it is it? :/ but i think its a good idea to get it checked as i should do the same but i am scared
