Hi. I'm 27 and have an almost 7 year old. Ever since I had him, I've noticed I have a different smell down there. If it's been more than a couple hours since I've showered, I can smell it, even through my pants. My boyfriend says it smells normal and fine to him, but it really bothers me. I know it's not and STD, yeast or bacterial infection, so what could be the cause of it? I don't get it and it drives me insane. It's only occured in the last 7 years, not before. Does having a child change your chemical make-up down there? Is there anything I can do? It makes me so self concious!
Also, Ive been shaving down there since I was 17. Before I had my son, I next to never had razor bumps/ingrown hairs from it. For the past 7 years, every time I shave I get massive amounts of razor bumps/ingrown hairs. It's irritating, and sometimes they get big and scar. I've tried using soap, shave cream, conditioner, lotion, shave gel, and shave lotion, and nothing seems to help. Any suggestions? I've tried having it waxed because I'd heard that reduces the risk of the bumps, but I'd get some bumps within a day of the waxing, and lots of bumps as the hair started growing back in. I don't know what to do. I shave for the cleanliness factor, so to me its a nessesisty, but I wish I could get the bumps to stop or have less. I've also tried multiple brands of razors and anywhere from 1 to 4 blades, with no help.
sounds silly but sometimes when you smell a smell it stays with you even though no one else can smell it. if its that bad why dont you go and see your doc as he/she can send some swobs off and find out whats going on and rule out anything. as for the shaving why dont you try to leave it for a bit as sometime the skin needs a bit of breathing space and your body changes as you get older. some times the soap or lotions that didnt effect you when you were 17 will effect you now so just get a mild soap and wash with that.
