I have been in a monogamous relationship for 12 years and as I had a hysterectomy at 24 there has never been a need for birth control. When we have sex there has never been a bad smell. I started an affair with another man five months ago (please don't judge) and notice a fishy smell the next morning after sex with my new partner. I have had sex with my long term partner three times since I started the affair and the next morning I smell normal. Could it be that certain peoples body fluids mixed just make for a nasty smelling cooter the next day. When I first noticed the smell I thought I developed BV but if that were the case then it would smell the next day with both men. I'm confused. BTW...FYI, my fling was tested for STD's aprox. three weeks before we started messing around. Also I want to clarify, my longterm boyfriend had a back injury eight years ago and due to the meds he takes has lost all sexual interest. I would try to initiate sex but nine out of ten times i would get turned down. I love him dearly but have needs. We actually went two and a half years without sex at one point. Again please no lectures, just wondering if anyone else has ever noticed that some partners cause an oder the next day and some don't.

I had been with my husband for 7yrs, never a problem. After our marriage ended I started seeing another man and every time we had sex I would get the symptoms of bv that everyone is talking about only I wouldn't actually have it. It's all about those ph levels and certain people's just don't do well with each other. For me the solution was that after sex I would use the restroom to empty most of the semen and then I'd vaginally insert a 500mg vitamin c tablet. You can look it up, it's well known to help with these issues and the reason for that is that it brings the acidity back up. For the most part this helped and all was well. Occasionally it would need a little help and I'd use a probiotic capsule as well to replenish the good bacteria. This method can also be used for bv as that is also caused by a ph imbalance. Hope this helps someone!

I don't think there's anything wrong with you. Same thing happens with me and my partner. There's no yeast infection, no bacterial vaginosis, no stds, etc. It's just normal. But it sucks. I very much dislike the smell.

Hi I'm 21 and me and it seems like we're having the same problem. Every time my bf of two years have intercourse something strange will happen as in yeast or bv every 3 months. I've been seeing a doctor for awhile now and they proclaim that it's either douching, using scented soap or his soap (AXE) in particular. But I know it can't be, his semen is clumpy and smells horrible and I've been trying to convince him to visit the doctors but he refuse and things go left for us. I don't want him to feel bad but I can't take spending extra money on the same product. Help?

Well your parents should have covered this with you at an early age... You're answer to this question, is extremely condescending and down right rude. This person was looking for a answer that did not require a smart insult as to question her intelligence before giving a possible reason for her problem. Shame on you.

It's not an STI or STD, speed is very acidic therefore throwing off your PH balance for a day or two until you're body naturally levels things back out. I'd suggest buying natures own ph leveling pills from cvs, Walmart, etc. they're cheap and you take one a day as a preventative.

Hi guest, do you have any other symptoms and is it just after you have intercourse and he ejaculated inside you or do you still have the odour even if you don't have intercourse for a couple days?

No it's bacterial vaginosis . This happens to so many women . The sperm throws of your ph balance . Use rephresh after and this issue will go away .

if you are letting him cum in you then it could be the sperm. if the smell continues more than a couple days.. your man might have another girl that had bacterial vaginosis and its spread on to you... I suggest seeing a doctor for prescription pills.

My doctor happens to be my dads best friend and I told him about the same situation. Chances are is your boyfriend could be cheating on you and spreading the other persons germs on to himself and on to you. THATS THE WORST CASE. The thing my doctor said for me to do is to get treated, and treat the boyfriend for BV too. I know it sounds strange but that's what he says . I asked other doctors to prescribe bv to my bf and they said no its for females only. But now im thinking my doctor no.1 could be right.. Anyway, I started to use probiotic and haven't had bv in almost a year. Go to the store and get it. its about 15 bucks and take it 1-2 times a day. You will smell great lol
