Do you have allergy's to the soaps you use my aunt can't use anti bacterial soap do to mettle allergies (sound similar to what she went through) & I have allergies to sulfates. I like putting salt & vinegar in my baths or foot baths & soak you could try this for you hands to remove the scaly skin then moisturize immediately after. some moisturizer contain sulfates to so keep an eye out hope this helps.
Sounds like eczema. I've had it my entire life, but it's gotten worse over the last 20 years. Cortizone cream isn't going to do anything for you once your hands are that bad. If the skin is open, you may want to consider an antibiotic that treats staph, because you are prone to infections once your natural layer of defense (your skin) is broken. I use Septra whenever my skin does this, and within a day or two, I notice a difference, and by day 5 or 6 I'm usually pretty clear.
I went through a week long allergy test at the Mayo Clinic because my skin was so raw and painful, I wasn't able to work (I'm a nurse). The dermatologists (pleural.... I was told I have the WORST eczema they've ever seen, and I had a group of dermatologists and infectious disease doctors working together on my case) recommended bleach baths twice a week, as well. It sounds terrible. Use 1/4 cup of bleach in your bathwater. It's so diluted, it won't irritate your skin.... I was nursing my new baby at the time, and afraid that it would be harmful to my "tender areas", but it wasn't at all. So the theory is that the bleach will also help kill off harmful bacteria.
Good luck!
This typically manifests due to an allergy you have to food and drinks you are consuming. Try to avoid harmful foods such as gluten, dairy, soy and refined sugars and caffeine - this will make a massive difference.
Same.
One finger. Sometimes 2.
Hot water feels good, but harms more it seems.
Been dealing for 2 years.
No creams help. Nothing doc prescribes helps. This seems like a small thing but is not.
Hey all,
I've got the same problem; i grew up with eczema as a child, and have gone to many Doctors about it; got to the point a couple of years ago of having School Sores ( Blisters/ boils, which peel the skin which ends up oozing yellowish liquid and spreading across the whole leg.)
I've now got some form of either eczema or School Sores on one finger, it started off looking like eczema with the thick flaky skin and red rash, and over the last month or so this 'eczema' has spread across 2 knuckles to the base of my nail bed. now anytime i bend my finger i end up cracking the skin which makes it bleed, i also have pimple like features which appear in small groups these get extremely itchy and sensitive and anytime these are burst these 'pimples' ooze yellowish liquid. anytime these sores are scratched it seems to make the sore spread and look like a burn.
I went to the pharmacist which recommended using crystaderm which is meant to kill all bacteria in the wound and is meant to soothe burns, school sores, acne. i found that this ended up burning all the delicate flaking skin and created a burning sensation. As of lately i have been using Betadine which has been keeping the wound moisturized and killing any germs which might be affecting the area.
I'm not sure what to do anymore, if anything these sores have been spreading over a short amount of time and are not getting any better. i have been covering the sores on finger daily to protect it from dirt and germs, at nights i can wake up to a horrible itchy sensation and some days the sores can feel really hot.
Any recommendations????
